WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH THE GAS PEDAL DESCENDED TO THE FLOORBOARD AND THE VEHICLE REACHED A SPEED OF 90 MPH. THE CONSUMER TIRED TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE TRUCK BY APPLYING THE BRAKES BUT THEY FAILED. THE CONSUME HAD TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. BOTH THE MANUFACTURER AND THE DEALERSHIP WERE CONTACTED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *NM

MY TRUCK A 1994 MAZDA B-4000 4X4 LOST BRAKES AT 40 TO 45 MPH. I ENEDED UP DITCHING THE TRUCK TO AVOID HITTING A SCHOOLBUS THAT WAS LETTING OFF CHILDEREN A STOP. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH FORD AND MAZDA. THE PROBLEM WAS WHERE THE RUBBER BRAKE LINE AND STEAL BRAKELINE COME TOGETHER BLEW APART. THE RESULT IS A COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKES

I HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL ASSEMBLY TWICE ON MY 1994 MAZDA B-3000 DUE TO LEAKING FUEL AND PAID $400.00 EACH OCCURENCE SINCE I PURCHASED THE TRUCK FROM THE DEALER. I TOOK NOTE OF RECALL NUMBER 94V111002 AND MAZDA STATES MY VIN NUMBER DOES NOT MATCH. MY TRUCK SPECIFICATIONS MATCH AS MUCH AS I CAN TELL AND I WOULD APPRECIATE A DETAILED EXPLANATION. THE PAINT ON THE HOOD AND ROOF HAS BUBBLED AND FLAKED OFF. I PURCHASED THE TRUCK WITH 8,000 MILES ON IT. I CONSISTENTLY WASHED AND WAXED THE TRUCK.(WAXED 5-7 TIMES YEARLY). THE BODY SHOP I TOOK THE TRUCK TO SAID THIS WAS POOR QUALITY WORK AND THEY WERE SUPRISED TO HERE THIS WAS FROM THE FACTORY AND NOT REPAIR WORK. *LA

DURING A TRIP FROM HOME TO STORE, THE DASH LIGHTS FOR THE ABS AND BRAKE SYSTEM CAME ON WITHOUT ANY PRIOR WARNING. ANOTHER DRIVER MADE A U-TURN IN FRONT OF ME PRIOR TO MY ARRIVAL AT THE STORE CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO APPLY THE BRAKES IN AN EVASIVE MANUEVER. THE BRAKES L,OCKED UP AND CAUSED ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO AVOID THE COLLISION. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE ABS HYDRAULIC CONTROL VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACE. THEY INDICATED THAT THERE HAD BEEN 3 REVISIONS OF THE ORIG…

I HAVE A 1994 MAZDA B3000 WITH 75000 MILES AND AFTER TEN YEARS THE TANK HAS DEVELOPED A CRACK IN AN AREA THAT IS PROTECTED FROM ROAD DEBRIS AND HAS NO STREES OR FLEX . I BELEIVE THAT THIS TANK WHILE IT IS TEN YEARS OLD IS DEFECTIVE AND SHOULD BE REPLACED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE RESULT COULD BE FIRE FROM THE LEAKING FUEL . THE CRACK IS NOT AT A SEAM . THE VEHICLE IS NOT USED IN ROUGH TERRAIN CAUSING STRESS. *JB

Reported: 1994-06-13 (June 13, 1994)

THE FRONT FUEL LINES HAVE A SECTION OF FLEXIBLE HOSE THAT IS SUSCEPTIBLE TO CRACKING WHICH CAN ALLOW FUEL LEAKAGE.

Consequence: LEAKING FUEL CAN RESULT IN A FIRE WHEN EXPOSED TO A SOURCE OF IGNITION.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE FRONT FUEL LINE ASSEMBLY.

94V169002 · Parking Brake:Conventional

Reported: 1994-10-31 (October 31, 1994)

THE PARKING BRAKE CONTROL SELF-ADJUST PAWL DOES NOT LINE UP PROPERLY WITH THE SELF-ADJUST RACHET CAUSING THE PAWL TO SLIP OVER ONE OR MORE TEETH IN THE RACHET.

Consequence: WHEN THE ABOVE OCCURS, IT CAN RESULT IN PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM INEFFECTIVENESS. THE PARKING BRAKE WILL NOT HOLD THE VEHICLE, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ROLL FREELY, IF THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT LEFT IN GEAR.

Remedy: A WEDGE WILL BE INSTALLED WHICH WILL SERVE TO LOCK THE PARKING BRAKE SELF-ADJUST MECHANISM PAWL INTO ENGAGEMENT WITH THE RACHET. ALSO, OWNERS WILL BE ADVISED TO RELEASE AND REAPPLY THE PARKING BRAKE WHENEVER TOOTH SKIP OCCURS AND WILL BE REMINDED TO ALWAYS TURN OFF THE ENGINE AND LEAVE THE VEHICLE IN GEAR WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED.

95V231002 · Vehicle Speed Control

Reported: 1995-12-20 (December 20, 1995)

DURING EXTREME COLD, NORTHERN CLIMATE WINTER CONDITIONS, ICE CAN FORM IN THE THROTTLE BODY OF THE ENGINE CAUSING THE THROTTLE PLATE TO REMAIN IN THE HIGHWAY CRUISING POSITION AFTER THE ACCELERATOR IS RELEASED OR THE SPEED CONTROL IS DEACTIVATED.

Consequence: THE VEHICLE STOPPING DISTANCES CAN BE INCREASED POSSIBLY RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE AIR INTAKE DUCT AND VALVE ASSEMBLY WITH REVISED UNITS.

96V024002 · Service Brakes, Hydraulic:Power Assist:Hydraulic

Reported: 1996-02-28 (February 28, 1996)

THE STUDS WHICH ATTACH THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER TO THE POWER BRAKE VACUUM BOOSTER ASSEMBLY CAN DEVELOP STRESS CORROSION CRACKING AFTER BEING OPERATED FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME IN THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA LOCATION.

Consequence: IF A CRACK OCCURS, IT COULD RESULT IN ONE OR BOTH STUDS FRACTURING. THE MASTER CYLINDER COULD THEN SEPARATE FROM THE VACUUM BOOSTER, WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED, PREVENTING THE SERVICE BRAKES FROM FULLY ACTIVATING INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE ACCIDENT.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE POWER BRAKE VACUUM BOOSTER ASSEMBLY.
