MY VEHICLE HAS TWO FAULTS THAT I BELIEVE ARE UNSAFE. FIRST, WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE HAS ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS PUT ITSELF INTO NEUTRAL AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF. AN ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL (ETC) WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATES WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE WAS ON AUGUST 24, 2026, AT LOW SPEED IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC PRESENT. I LOST DRIVE PART WAY THROUGH THE TURN AND HAD TO RESTART THE ENGINE WHILE STOPPED IN THE ROADWAY TO CLEAR THE INTERSECTION. THERE HAS BEEN NO CRASH AND NO INJURY. SECOND, THE VEHICLE I…

25V098000 · Back Over Prevention:Software
Reported: 2025-02-17 (February 17, 2025)
Maserati North America, Inc. (Maserati) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Grecale, 2023-2025 MC20 Cielo, 2024 Granturismo, GranCabrio, 2021-2024 Levante, Ghibli, Quattroporte, and 2022-2025 MC 20 vehicles. The radio software may prevent the rearview image from displaying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Consequence: A rearview camera image that does not display decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: The radio software will be updated over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 10, 2025. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 877-696-2737. Maserati's number for this recall is 740.
