2018 MACK GRU WITH 40K HAS TWO CRACKED FRONT WHEELS MADE BY ALCOA. WE HAVE 10 OTHER TRUCKS 2012 TO 2019 WITH SAME WHEELS AND NO CRACKS. AFTER LITTLE RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET IT IS OBVIOUS MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM ON BUSES, RVS, AND TRUCKS. STRANGE WE WOULD HAVE 2 ON SAME TRUCK AND NO OTHERS. IT IS EASY TO ASSUME THE ALUMINUM ALLOY IS NOT RIGHT. VERY DANGEROUS!!!! PICTURES ATTACHED, YOU ARE WELCOME TO WHEELS, NOT LOOKING FOR ANYTHING, JUST GIVING INFORMATION

Recall history

1 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

25V030000 · Service Brakes, Air:Antilock

Reported: 2025-01-23 (January 23, 2025)

Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2010-2018 MRU and 2019-2025 Terrapro towing vehicles. The vehicles are missing the anti-lock brake (ABS) warning light and circuitry that controls the anti-lock brake function for an attached trailer. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

Consequence: Driving without a functioning anti-lock brake system may result in the trailer not braking as intended, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will add an ABS warning light and circuitry, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 28, 2025. Owners may contact Mack's customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0474.
