TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 LOAD MAX GL24 TRAILER TOWED BY A 2013 DODGE RAM. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE HYDRAULIC JACK FAILED ON THE TRAILER. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, CAUSING A JACKKNIFE CRASH. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HEAD AND BOTH SIDES OF THE BODY THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE AND TRAILER WERE DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000.
