Owner report 10780950 · 2015-10-08 (October 8, 2015)
VEHICLE ENGINE SHUTS DOWN AT STOPS OR STOP-AND-GO TRAFFIC WHILE VEHICLE IS IN DRIVE. ERROR DISPLAYED ON TACHOMETER SCREEN READS "FULL ACCESSORY POWER ACTIVE". ONCE ENGINE STOPS, ALL ELECTRICAL CONTINUES TO WORK. THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN THIS HAPPENS. YOU CAN PUT CAR IN PARK AND RESTART, AND ISSUE RESOLVES, BUT HAPPENS RANDOMLY. THIS IS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 800 MILES.

THERE IS A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW/SAFETY HAZARD WITH THE WAY THE BAR ATTACHED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL IS STRUCTURED. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND I NEED TO BRAKE, THE TIP OF MY SHOE MAKES CONTACT WITH THE SKINNY METAL BAR ATTACHED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. IN OTHER WORDS, THE ONLY WAY TO BRAKE IS TO BEND MY SHOE FAR ENOUGH FOR IT TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL. THIS CAUSES VERY UNEVEN, JERKY AND ERRATIC BRAKING. IN MANY CASES, I HAVE NEARLY REAR-ENDED THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE MY SHOE IS NOT FLEXIBLE ENOUGH TO MAKE FAST CONTACT WITH T…

LED ADAPTIVE HEADLIGHTS ARE SAID TO MOVE IN COORDINATION WITH THE STEERING ANGLE WHEN HEADLIGHTS ARE ACTIVATED BUT DO NOT. EVEN WHEN SET TO AUTOMATIC MODE, HEADLIGHTS WILL ONLY ILLUMINATE IN THE DIRECTION IN WHICH THE VEHICLE IS POINTING PARTIALLY BLINDING DRIVERS IN THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC. ADDITIONALLY THE MANUAL STATES ON VEHICLE STARTUP WE SHOULD SEE THE LAMPS TRACK TO A "PREDETERMINED POSITION" THEN CENTER. MINE DOES NOT DO THIS. I ALSO MADE SURE TO DRIVE ABOVE 5MPH AND TURNED MY WHEEL FOR VERY SHARP INTO SHALLOW TURNS. THE MANUAL ALSO …

THERE IS A SERIOUS FLAW/DESIGN WITH THE WAY THE BAR IS ATTACHED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL,ALSO THE BRAKE PEDAL PAD IS WAY TOO SMALL.WHEN I AM DRIVING AND I NEED TO BRAKE MY FOOT HITS THE METAL BAR THAT SUPPORTS THE BRAKE PEDAL,WHICH MAKES IT VERY UNCOMFORTABLE TO STOP.ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS I ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME DUE TO THIS FLAW.THE DESIGN WAS VERY POORLY PLANNED,THE BAR IS ALSO ATTACHED TO THE RIGHT OUTSIDE OF THE BRAKE PEDAL IN WHICH OTHER TIMES WHEN MOVING FOOT FROM GAS PEDAL TO BRAKE YOUR FOOT CAN ALSO BE BLOCKED FROM GETTING TO THE B…

THE CAR HAS STALLED 6 OR 7 TIMES WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PARK. THE DEALERSHIP SEEMS TO HAVE FIXED THAT PROBLEM. A MORE SERIOUS PROBLEM OCCURRED ON JUNE 7 WHILE WE WERE ON VACATION IN NEW ORLEANS LA. DRIVING DOWN A BUSY STREET, I SLOWED FOR TRAFFIC AND THE ENGINE QUIT. I WAS ABLE TO MOVE TO THE RIGHT AND AVOID AN ACCIDENT. RESTARTED CAR AND CONTINUED DRIVING. MAY 19 2016 I EXPERIENCED THE INABILITY TO ACCELERATE. TURNED OFF THE CAR AND RETRIED. I WENT ABOUT A HALF MILE WHEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THE SERVICE SAID IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY. AFTER 27 DAYS I GOT MY CAR BACK.. WHILE LINCOLN WAS HELPFUL, I DO BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. IF THAT HAD HAPPENED WHEN I WAS PULLING IN TO BUSY FAST TRAFFIC, IT COULD BE DEADLY. I WAS ON SIDE STREET, ALSO ON HIGHWAY PULLING INTO TRAFFIC TURNING LEFT.

16V343000 · Child Seat:Tether: Connector/Clip
Reported: 2016-05-24 (May 24, 2016)
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2016 Lincoln MKX vehicles manufactured September 24, 2015. An incorrect seat back trim cover was installed on the affected vehicles, blocking the child seat tether anchors in the second row center seating position. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, "Child restraint anchorage systems."
Consequence: An improperly anchored child seat can increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the seat back trim cover and tether cover bezel on the second row, free of charge. The recall began on June 16, 2016. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16C09.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
Consequence: During deployment, if the air bag does not fully inflate or the cushion detaches, there is an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash.
