TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 LEXUS LS460L. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE CONTACT MADE A U-TURN AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME STUCK. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURE WAS NOTIFIED WHO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1100. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 400. AUTOMOBILE HESITATES, THEN SURGES UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. ON 08/27/2018 AT 11:30 A.M. I WAS DRIVING ON THE EXTENDED ON-RAMP TO ROUTE 288 IN CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA AT ABOUT 55 MPH. IT WAS SUNNY, NOT HUMID AND THE TEMPERATURE WAS IN THE HIGH 70'S; THE ROADWAY WAS SMOOTH AND CLEAR OF OBSTRUCTIONS. THIS VEHICLE SEEMS LIKE IT WAS DAMAGED FROM THE START. EVER SINCE THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED FROM PRESTIGE LEXUS NJ, IT'S JUST BEEN GIVING US PROBLEMS ALL THE TIME. IT SEEMS LIKE THIS CAR WAS FACTORY DAMAGED, OR THE DEALERSHIP REWINDED THE MILEAGE ON THE CAR BECAUSE A CAR AT 30,000 MILES SHOULDN'T HAVE PROBLEMS CONSTANTLY. I AM EXPERIENCING AN ANTI LOCK BRAKES ACTUATOR FAILURE. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE IT GIVES THE WARNING "STOP THE VEHICLE AND CONTACT A DEALER". THE EXTENDED WARRANTY IS LIMITED BY MILEAGE AND YEARS. BEING A KEY SAFETY COMPONENT IN VEHICLE OPERATION, I AM REQUESTING THIS ISSUE BE CONVERTED INTO A RECALL.

The contact owns a 2010 Lexus LS460 L. The contact stated while driving at 60 MPH, the check engine and hazard warning light illuminated, and the vehicle decelerated independently. The vehicle was driven to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed of an engine misfire. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. Reported: 2010-05-21 (May 21, 2010)
TOYOTA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2009 AND 2010 LEXUS LS460 AND LS600 VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM AUGUST 20, 2009 THROUGH MAY 13, 2010. A PROGRAMMING CHANGE OF THE STEERING CONTROL ECU FOR THE VARIABLE GEAR RATIO STEERING (VGRS) SYSTEM CAN CAUSE IMPROPER ACTIVATION OF THE STEERING SYSTEM PROTECTION LOGIC DESIGNED TO PROTECT THE SYSTEM WHEN LARGER THAN NORMAL STEERING INPUTS ARE APPLIED AT A FULLY TURNED POSITION.
Consequence: IMPROPER ACTIVATION OF THE STEERING SYSTEM PROTECTION LOGIC CAN CAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL TO BECOME OFF-CENTERED UP TO 90 DEGREES. THIS MAY OCCUR AFTER THE DRIVER HAS FULLY TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL IN ONE DIRECTION THEN QUICKLY ATTEMPTS TO TURN IT BACK TO THE CENTER POSITION. SHOULD THIS OCCUR WHILE DRIVING, THE RISK OF A CRASH IS INCREASED.
Remedy: TOYOTA WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND LEXUS DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE STEERING CONTROL ECU FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 12, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TOYOTA AT 1-800-331-4331.

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2007-2010 Lexus LS vehicles manufactured May 9, 2006, to July 20, 2010, 2006-2011 Lexus GS vehicles manufactured January 6, 2005, to September 10, 2010, and 2006-2011 Lexus IS vehicles manufactured August 30, 2005, to September 10, 2010. Due to anti-corrosion plating remnants, fuel may leak from where the fuel pressure sensor is attached to the fuel delivery pipe.
Consequence: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will clean and reseal the fuel pressure sensor mounting area, free of charge. The recall began March 3, 2015. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331.
