WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH IN CITY TRAFFIC AN ERROR LIGHT INDICATING "GEAR BOX FAULT" APPEARED FOLLOWED BY NUMEROUS OTHER WARNINGS. THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND COASTED TO A STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE, AFTER 26 DAYS IN SERVICE AND 80 MILES DRIVEN BY A SERVICE TECHNICIAN THE DEALER CONTINUES TO TELL ME THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. THEY INDICATED THAT THE COMPUTER REPORTS INDICATE A MAJOR PROBLEM OCCURED BUT THEY ARE UNABLE TO RECREATE IT.

TRANSMISSION STICKS IN 3RD GEAR ON LOW SPEED 30 - 35 MPH. RPM STAYS AT 3000 - 4000 . DUE TO THAT IT STARTS TO MAKE VERY LOUD NOISE. IF CAR IS NOT STOPPED AND COOLED FOR SOME TIME (30 MIN) IT CAN LEAD TO OVERHEATING AND PROBABLY DESTROYING THE CLUTCH.

FRONT LOWER TOW EYE COVER HAS DETACHED ON THE FREEWAY. IT'S THE PIECE THAT ATTACHED UNDERNEATH WITH 2 SCREWS BUT JUST WITH SOME CLIPS ON THE FRONT, AND IT FELL OFF UNDER AIR PRESSURE AND WAS DRAGGING ON THE FREEWAY. IT HAPPENED TWICE IN A 1,5 YEAR PERIOD.

THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF, RENDERING A 'LIFE-THREATENING MALFUNCTION', WHILE EXITING THE TOLL ROAD AT OVER 30MPH. THIS EPISODE WAS REPEATED ONCE MORE AT THE SAME LOCATION ONE MONTH LATER. ON THE THIRD EPISODE, THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE AT A STOPLIGHT. AND THE MOST RECENT, FOURTH, EPISODE INCLUDED AN ALERT TEXT STATING 'GEAR-BOX FAILURE'.

Owner report 11152296 · 2018-11-18 (November 18, 2018)

THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY CAUSING A LIFE-THREATENING SITUATION. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE ISSUE HAS OCCURRED. THE FIRST TIME I WAS EXITING A HIGHWAY AND MANAGED TO GET TO THE ACCESS ROAD BEFORE THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN AGAIN. IT WILL RESTART AND IMMEDIATELY SHUT DOWN. IT SEEMS TO OCCUR WHEN SLOWING DOWN FOLLOWING HIGHWAY DRIVING AT 55+MPH. BOTH INCIDENTS REQUIRED POLICE ASSISTANCE TO REDIRECT HEAVY TRAFFIC.

16V889000 · Suspension:Front:Control Arm:Lower Arm

Reported: 2016-12-09 (December 9, 2016)

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport vehicles manufactured May 30, 2016, to August 24, 2016, and 2016-2017 Range Rover Evoque vehicles manufactured June 7, 2016, to August 26, 2016. The affected vehicles have front lower control arm fasteners that may fail due to an assembly error, possibly resulting in separation of the steering knuckle.

Consequence: If the fasteners were to fail causing the knuckle to separate, vehicle handling may be affected, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will replace the hardware that connects the front lower control arm to the knuckle, free of charge. The recall began on January 27, 2017. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is Q650/Q651.

16V941000 · Air Bags:Frontal:Passenger Side:Inflator Module

Reported: 2016-12-29 (December 29, 2016)

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2016 Land Rover Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles and 2017 Range Rover Evoque vehicles. The affected vehicles have a front passenger air bag inflator initiator that may fail to ignite during a crash, preventing the air bag from deploying.

Consequence: In the event of a crash of sufficient severity, the front passenger air bag may not deploy as required, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin February 20, 2017. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is P094.
