I PURCHASED A LANCE 1121 CAMPER IN 2001. SINCE THE PURCHASE OF THIS CAMPER I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH WATER LEAKS. AFTER REPAIR ATTEMPTS BY THE DEALERSHIP THE CAMPER WAS RETURNED TO THE FACTORY ONE YEAR AFTER PURCHASE. SEVEN YEARS LATER WE FIND THE CAMPER WAS CONTINUING TO LEAK AND THE INTERIOR WALLS WERE WATER ROTTED. SO FAR WE HAVE SPENT $10,000.00 IN REPAIRS ON THE SLIDEOUT SIDE. WE EXPECT TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL $6,000.00 TO $8,000.00 TO REPAIR THE OTHER SIDE. THE COMPANY IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT REFUSES TO PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. FROM…

ON CERTAIN SLIDE-IN PICKUP TRUCK RECREATIONAL CAMPERS EQUIPPED WITH A TWO-DOOR REFRIGERATOR MANUFACTURED BY THE DOMETIC CORPORATION, THE REFRIGERATOR MAY HAVE A DEFECT IN THE BOILER TUBE. PRESSURIZED COOLANT SOLUTION COULD BE RELEASED INTO AN AREA WHERE AN IGNITION SOURCE (GAS FLAME) IS PRESENT.
Consequence: RELEASE OF COOLANT UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS COULD IGNITE AND RESULT IN A FIRE.
Remedy: LANCE WILL BE WORKING WITH DOMETIC IN ORDER TO REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS (PLEASE SEE 06E076). DOMETIC WILL REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS BY INSTALLING A SECONDARY BURN HOUSING, A THERMAL FUSE, AND A MELT FUSE FREE OF CHARGE. DOMETIC HAS RETAINED STERICYCLE INC. TO MANAGE THIS CAMPAIGN. STERICYCLE WILL ASSIST THE OWNER IN LOCATING DEALERSHIPS OR SERVICE CENTERS AND WILL PROVIDE ASSISTANCE WITH SCHEDULING OF APPOINTMENTS.
