I purchased a 2024 KTM 390 Adventure on June 21, 2025 and within 1/4 mile of driving it away from the dealership my throttle completely cut out as I was merging into traffic. The bike had 2 miles on it and was brand new. I turned the key to the bike off and back on after I was sitting in the bike lane of the road. I started the bike back up and was able to make it another mile down the road when my throttle completely cut out as I was making a left turn through an intersection. The contact owns a 2024 KTM 390 Adventure. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 MPH, the throttle was applied, and the motorcycle stalled. The contact stated that when the motorcycle was restarted, the check engine and ECU warning lights illuminated on the instrument cluster. The contact was able to drive the vehicle back to the residence but had experienced several other stalling events while the throttle was applied. The contact owns a 2024 KTM 390 Adventure. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V598000 (Vehicle Speed Control); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. 25V598000 · Vehicle Speed Control:Throttle
Reported: 2025-09-11 (September 11, 2025)
KTM North America, Inc. is recalling certain 2022-2023 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, and 2022-2024 KTM 390 Adventure motorcycles. Water could enter the throttle (e-throttle) control unit and cause it to fail, resulting in loss of drive power.
Consequence: Loss of drive power while riding increases the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy: KTM and Husqvarna dealers will inspect and replace the e-throttle control, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 30, 2026. Owners may contact KTM customer service at 1-888-985-6090. KTM's number for this recall is KTB2606 and HTB2603. The VINs involved in this recall became searchable on March 31, 2026.
