THE SENSOR/GAS LEVEL IN THE GAS TANK WENT OUT WHEN THE CAR HAD 53000 + OR - ON IT AND IT COST US $300 TO FIX IT. THE DRIVER'S DOOR DOESN'T SEAL. AND NOW, AS WE LEFT A STORE TONIGHT, THE FLASHING (YES FLASHING) CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND THE CAR IS SPUTTERING AND CLANGING FROM UNDER THE BONNET. IT IS IN THE EVENING AND A FRIDAY NIGHT. I OPENED THE HOOD AND IT SMELLED FUNKY/BURNT. IT WAS SPUTTERING. THE CAR CURRENTLY HAS 72000 MILES ON IT. I'LL TRY TO GET IT LOOKED AT IN THE MORROW.

Reported: 2004-06-24 (June 24, 2004)
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, THE FRONT SAFETY BELT BUCKLES MAY EMIT A "CLICK" SOUND DURING THE BUCKLING PROCESS THAT IS SIMILAR TO THE SOUND EMITTED WHEN A BUCKLE IS BEING LATCHED, WHEN IT IS NOT.
Consequence: THE LATCH CAN THEN PULL OUT OF THE BUCKLE WHEN TENSION IS APPLIED.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE BOTH FRONT SEAT BELT BUCKLES. THE RECALL BEGAN AUGUST 16, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT KIA AT 1-800-333-4542.
