VEHICLE SEAT MOVED FORWARD BY IT'S SELF WITHOUT PUSHING ANY BUTTON PUSHING DRIVER'S KNEES INTO DASH AND ABDOMEN INTO THE STEERING WHEEL, SLIGHTLY INJURING HER KNEES. THE SEAT COULD NOT BE STOPPED NOR COULD IT BE MOVED BACK TO THE REAR. THE VEHICLE IS A NEW KIA AMANTI SEDAN AND WAS HAULED BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT HAS BEEN FOR 18 DAYS AND STILL NOT REPAIRED. *JB

THE DRIVERS SEAT GOES FORWARD BY ITSELF IT CANNOT BE STOPPED BY CONTROL SWITCHES. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES, TWICE WHILE THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN, ONCE INJURIES WERE INFLICTED TO THE DRIVER,THE CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN IN FOR REPAIRS 3 TIMES THE SERVICE DEPT. AT THE DEALERSHIP KEPT THE CAR 20+ DAYS FOR THIS PROBLEM THE SECOND TIME IT WAS TAKEN IN, WE PICKED IT UP ON FRIDAY AND THE LAST INCIDENT HAPPENED ON THE FOLLOWING SUNDAY EVENING. *JB

TL* - THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THIS WAS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. IF THE VEHICLE DID ACCELERATE, IT WOULD DO SO VERY SLOWLY AND THE RPMS WERE RUNNING AS THOUGH THE CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING AT AN ACCELERATED SPEED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN ANYTIME OF THE DAY. TL*- THE CONTACT HAS A SAFETY COMPLAINT ABOUT ATHE 2006 KIA AMANTE THAT HE PURCHASED IN SEPTEMBER 2006, WITH 0 MILES, AND CURRENTLY HAD 9200 MILES. IN N SEPTEMBER 2006 WITH AN ODOMETER READING OF 2600 MILES AND WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, AND MAKING A GRADUAL LEFT HAND TURN, THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE STEERING VIBRATED. THE SLIGHTEST TOUCH OF THE GAS WILL CAUSE IT TO LURCH FORWARD, BUT ALSO IT LAGS, YOU CAN PUSH THE ACCELERATION DEEP AND STILL NOT MUCH RESPONSE. USUALLY THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS I'LL BACK OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, PUT INTO DRIVE, TOUCH THE GAS, AND IT WILL LURCH. BACK OFF THE GAS LURCH AGAIN. FULL STOP AND THEN THE CAR WILL RUN JUST FINE.
