I APPLIED FOR A TRANSFER OF TITLE THRU BEST AUTO TAGS TO THE PA. DEPT OF TRANSPORTATION ON JUNE 29TH. TO DATE NO TITLE REC'D. PA. D.O.T. SENT TITLE TO THE WRONG ADDRESS. ADDRESS WAS RECORDED CORRECTLY BY BEST AUTO TAGS. I REQUESTED A CHANGE OF ADDRESS THRU THE PA. D.O.T. WEBSITE AS WELL AS THROUGH A CHANGE OF ADDRESS FORM(MV63 )AS OF TODAY STILL NO ADDRESS CHANGE HAS TAKEN PLACE. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THE TITLE TO A MOTORCYCLE I PURCHASED SINCE 6/29/07. 07V235000 · Suspension:Rear:Shock Absorber
Reported: 2007-06-11 (June 11, 2007)
ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE TOP MOUNT FOR THE SINGLE REAR SHOCK IS SPOT WELDED IN POSITION DURING FRAME MANUFACTURE, THEN IS SUPPOSED TO BE COMPLETELY WELDED TO THE FRAME IN A SUBSEQUENT OPERATION. IN A SMALL NUMBER OF FRAMES, IT APPEARS THIS SUBSEQUENT WELDING OPERATION WAS NOT PERFORMED.
Consequence: THE WELDING MAY BECOME LOOSE WHILE THE MOTORCYCLE IS IN MOTION INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy: ALL OWNERS HAVE BEEN CONTACTED AND ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO REPAIR THEIR MOTORCYCLES. OWNERS MAY CONTACT KAWASAKI AT 1-866-802-9381.
