TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JAY-CO FLIGHT MODEL 26JTX. THE TRAILER WAS PURCHASED ON MARCH 7, 2007. THERE ARE FUMES PRESENT IN THE TRAILER, THAT SMELL LIKE A MIXTURE OF GLUE, AMMONIA, AND FORMALDEHYDE. THE ODOR CAUSED SEVERE CHEST, EYE BURNING, NAUSEA, AND DIFFICULTY BREATHING. SHE ALSO STATED THAT SHE HAD TO DISCARD ALL OF THE FOOD IN THE REFRIGERATOR DUE TO THE FUMES IN THE TRAILER. THESE FUMES HAVE ALSO CAUSED THE CONTACT TO DEVELOP A SEVERE PANIC ATTACK DISORDER. THE DEALER STATED THAT EVERYTHING IS OKAY AND THAT THIS IS NORMAL FOR A BRAND NE…

Owner report 10206865 · 2007-10-25 (October 25, 2007)
WE NOTICED THESE TIRES WERE FAILING JUST BEFORE THEY ACTUALLY BLEW APART. THE FIRST ONE I NOTICED IN WACO TX, JUST AFTER PARKING IN AN RV PARK. A PIECE OF RUBBER THE SIZE OF YOUR HAND WAS MISSING ? BUT THE TIRE WAS STILL HOLDING AIR. I REPLACED THAT TIRE WITH THE SPARE AND TOOK THE TIRE TO A GOODYEAR DEALER (WINGFOOT) IN WACO WHO REPLACED IT AT NO CHARGE EXCEPT FOR MOUNTING AND BALANCING. LATER I WENT TO THE DEALER IN SELMA, TX WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAMPER (IN JAN 2007) FOR SOME INTERIOR WARRANTY WORK. THE SERVICE WRITER GLANCED AT MY TIRES AS …

Reported: 2007-03-20 (March 20, 2007)
ON CERTAIN TRAVEL AND FIFTH WHEEL TRAILERS EQUIPPED WITH HICKORY SPRINGS 'BIG EASY TRIPLE STEPS,' AN IMPROPER ENGAGEMENT OF THE BOTTOM STEP PIVOT ARM WITH THE FORMED STOP EDGE OF THE MIDDLE STEP SUPPORT BRACKET CAN RESULT IN THE BOTTOM STEP ROTATING TO AN UNSAFE DOWNWARD ANGLE.
Consequence: A PERSON COULD BE INJURED SHOULD THE STEP GIVE WAY WHILE BEING USED TO ENTER OR EXIT THE TRAILER.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE TRAILERS FOR THE MANUFACTURING DATE STICKER TO VERIFY THE DATE OF PRODUCTION OF THE STEP AND, IF NECESSARY, WILL WELD STOCK TO EACH SIDE OF THE LOWER (TRIPLE) STEP STOP EDGES. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 30, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT JAYCO AT 1-800-283-8267.

Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling various 2002-2016 recreational vehicles equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V746-9524.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf
Consequence: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Jayco will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267, or Kidde customer service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information.
