I WAS DRIVING HOME AND THE FAN ON THE A/C STOPPED WORKING. SHORTLY AFTERWARD I DETECTED A BURNING ODOR. I ENDED UP REPLACING THE RESISTOR AND WIRING HARNESS FOR THE A/C BLOWER MOTOR. THE RESISTOR WAS BURNT AND THE HARNESS WIRE WAS SLIGHTLY MELTED. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE POTENTIAL FOR A FIRE IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN. *TR

MY HEATING AND AC BLOWER MOTOR STOPPED WORKING ON A VEHICLE THAT HAS LESS THAN 31K MILES ON IT. THE ESTIMATED REPAIR COSTS ARE 500$, NOT INCLUDING THE TOW, BEING THAT IT IS THE MIDDLE OF WINTER AND THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP IS 20 MILES AWAY. ADDITIONALLY, THE TIME OFF OF WORK AND EBING WITHOUT A CAR FOR A WEEK. I HAVE HEAVILY RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE AND IT HAS BEEN REPORTED THOUSANDS OF TIMES AND IS A WELL KNOWN ISSUE AND GM HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL. THE PROBLEM IS THAT A FAULTY ELECTRICAL SHORT CAUSES A WIRING HARNESS TO MELT, (SMOKING) W…

THE VEHICLE SOMETIMES WILL NOT START DUE TO A PROBLEM WITH THE SECURITY SENSOR IN THE IGNITION SWITCH. THIS IS WHEN STARTING UP THE VEHICLE AND WILL ONLY PERIODICALLY OCCUR. THE SECURITY SYSTEM LIGHT COMES ON AND YOU HAVE TO WAIT 10 MINUTES TO START THE VEHICLE, THEN IT WILL START. IT HAS HAPPENED IN THE SUMMER AND NOW THE WINTER.

My transfer case established a large fluid leak so I inspected it, the findings was a large hole in the main housing on the transfer case fluid was leaking out. The transfer case was removed and disassembled, and found that the 2 screws that hold the chain guide to the housing had backed out or fell out and let the chain guide fall down in to the gear mechanism and ground it up and broke the main case. In result was the quarter size hole in the housing of the transfer case allowing liquid to escape and damage the housing. Leaving me without a …

Recall history

2 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

10V179000 · Structure:Body:Hood

Reported: 2010-04-30 (April 30, 2010)

GM IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2006 THROUGH 2010 HUMMER H3 VEHICLES. SOME OF THESE VEHICLES HAVE A CONDITION IN WHICH THE INTEGRAL CLIP-TABS ON THE LOUVER ON THE HOOD MAY FRACTURE, CAUSING THE HOOD LOUVER RATTLE AGAINST THE HOOD AND BECOME LOOSE. IF THIS INDICATOR IS UNNOTICED, ADDITIONAL CLIPS COULD FRACTURE AND THE HOOD LOUVER COULD DETACH FROM THE VEHICLE.

Consequence: IF THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVING WHEN THIS OCCURS, IT COULD STRIKE A FOLLOWING VEHICLE AND CAUSE INJURY AND/OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL APPLY AN ADHESIVE TO THE HOOD LOUVER TO SECURE IT TO THE HOOD. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 12, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HUMMER AT 800-732-5493 OR AT THE OWNER CENTER AT WWW.GMOWNERCENTER.COM.
