Owner report 10736157 · 2015-07-23 (July 23, 2015)

WE HAD PURCHASED THE HR-V IN HUNTSVILLE, AL. DURING THE DRIVE BACK TO NEW ORLEANS AN OBJECT CAUSED A SMALL CRATER IN THE WINDSHIELD. LATER IN JUNE A CRACK FORMED ON THE UPPER, MIDDLE PART OF THE WINDSHIELD AND WAS NOT CONNECTED WITH THE ORIGINAL CRATER. THEN THIS PAST SATURDAY ANOTHER CRATER APPEARED IN THE WINDSHIELD AS WE WERE DRIVING ON A LOCAL ROAD AT 40 MPH. THIS CONCERNS ME BECAUSE THE WINDSHIELD ON THIS HR-V SEEMS TO BE QUITE FRAGILE. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR 30+ YEARS NOW AND I'VE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH ANY VEHICLE LIKE THIS ONE. THE WI…

AFTER PURCHASING AND BEING ABLE TO DRIVE IT FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, I NOTICED A PRESSURE POINT IN MY MID-BACK. IT GOT TO THE POINT WHERE IT WOULD TAKE AS LITTLE TIME AS MY 7 MINUTE COMMUTE TO CAUSE MY BACK TO GO NUMB. THIS NUMBNESS WOULD PERSIST FOR SEVERAL HOURS AFTER GETTING OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE DRIVER SEAT AS WELL AS THE PASSENGER AND BACK SEATS. IT WAS RECOMMENDED TO ADJUST THE SEAT, BUT NO AMOUNT OF SEAT ADJUSTMENT WOULD ALLEVIATE THIS PROBLEM. ONE HONDA DEALER TOLD ME THAT THIS SEAT HAD NO LUMBAR SUPPO…

I AM CONCERNED THAT A SAFETY ISSUE EXISTS ON THE 2016 HONDA HRV EX-L NAVI THAT I RECENTLY PURCHASED. THE ISSUE IS ASSOCIATED WITH THE POWER ON/OFF BUTTON THAT IS STANDARD ON THE EX MODELS. SPECIFICALLY IF YOU ACTIVATE THE POWER OFF BUTTON WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN DRIVE THE VEHICLE DOES NOT ACTUALLY SHUT DOWN AND WILL DRIFT FORWARD OR BACKWARD. IT IS VERY POSSIBLE THAT YOU COULD EXIT THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULD START DRIFT UNTIL IT EITHER HIT SOMETHING OR HUMAN INTERVENTION COULD BE TAKEN. IN ADDITION TO THE HONDA HRV, I HAVE A 2010 TOYOTA PRIU…

I'VE OWNED MY HONDA HR-V FOR A LITTLE OVER A WEEK NOW. I'VE TRIED NINE WAYS TO SUNDAY TO MAKE THE SEAT COMFORTABLE -- TO NO AVAIL. IT CAUSES UNBELIEVABLE PAIN IN MY NECK, SHOULDER AND JAW. IT CAUSES ME EXTREME PAIN. I ORDERED A NECK SUPPORT AND LUMBAR SUPPORT WHICH HAVE HELPED SLIGHTLY BUT NOT ENOUGH. I CONTACTED HONDA CORPORATE AND THEY SUGGESTED I BRING THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT TO HAVE THE SEAT INSPECTED. THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. HONDA CORPORATE CALLED ME BACK AND IN THEIR MINDS THE ISSUE IS RESOLVED AS NOTHING C…

Recall history

2 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

15V472000 · Equipment:Other:Labels | Tires

Reported: 2015-07-28 (July 28, 2015)

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain model year 2016 HR-V vehicles manufactured January 12, 2015, to May 20, 2015. The affected vehicles may be missing the required tire placard indicating "Tire and Loading Information." These vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 110, "Tire Selection and Rims and Motor Home/Recreation Vehicle Trailer Load Carrying Capacity Information for Motor Vehicles with a GVWR of 4,536 kilograms (10,000 pounds) or less."

Consequence: If the tire placard is missing the driver or owner may not know at what pressure to inflate the tires, resulting in over or under tire inflation which potentially increases the risk of a tire failure and crash.

Remedy: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicle, and apply a new label, free of charge. The recall began on September 18, 2015. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is JT2, or JT4.

18V777000 · Service Brakes, Hydraulic:Foundation Components:Disc:Caliper

Reported: 2018-11-01 (November 1, 2018)

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2017-2019 Acura MDX, 2017-2018 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid, 2018-2019 Honda HR-V and Honda Odyssey, and 2016 Honda HR-V vehicles. The rear brake caliper pistons may have an insufficient coating, causing gas pockets to form, reducing brake performance. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."

Consequence: A reduction of braking performance increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Owners will be notified, and Honda or Acura dealers will bleed the brakes, free of charge. The recall began December 11, 2018. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are C31 and L30.
