LCD SPEEDOMETER HOUSING SHOWS SIGN OF AN OVER HEATING ISSUE. DEALER SAYS IT'S FROM THE SUN, THE PLASTIC HOUSING AND LENS IS BADLY DAMAGED. THIS COULD CAUSE WATER TO LEAK INTO THE UNIT AND SHORT CIRCUIT, INSIDE THE UNIT. THIS COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STOP, ABRUPTLY AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I WAS TOLD THE UNIT WOULD BE REPLACED, BUT ONLY THIS ONE TIME, UNDER WARRANTY. THE TYPE OF PLASTIC SHOULD BE CHANGED TOO WITH STAND THE HEAT OF THE SUN BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT OR KILLED. *JS

AS DELIVERED AND WITH THE REAR AXLE ALIGNED EQUALLY ON THE HASH MARKS ON EACH SIDE OF THE SWINGARM, THE REAR TIRE DOES NOT TRACK IN THE SAME PATH AS THE FRONT TIRE. SIMILARLY, THE REAR SPROCKET IS MISALIGNED WITH THE CHAIN. IN ORDER TO CORRECT THIS, THE REAR AXLE MUST BE MISALIGNED ACCORDING TO THE HASH MARKS. DOING SO CORRECTS THE ALIGNMENT OF THE FRONT AND REAR TIRES AND ALSO ALIGNS THE REAR SPROCKET WITH THE CHAIN. AFTER I RODE THE BIKE FOR A WHILE, IT BECAME OBVIOUS BECAUSE OF HANDLEBAR MISALIGNMENT THAT SOMETHING WASN'T RIGHT. THE HANDLE BARS ARE TILTED TO THE RIGHT QUITE A BIT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA CTX700. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE BRAKING ABILITY SEIZED. THE CONTACT TRAVELED ACROSS THREE LANES OF TRAFFIC UNTIL THE MOTORCYCLE STOPPED. While riding my Honda CTX 700 DCT, I lost all engine power, on two occasions. The second was after the Honda Certified Dealer said they repaired it. The first incident was while city riding at 25MPH, and the second was during dense highway traffic at 60MPH. I was barely able to safely pull to the side of the road on momentum alone. 13V307000 · Service Brakes, Hydraulic:Antilock/Traction Control/Electronic Limited Slip
Reported: 2013-07-10 (July 10, 2013)
Honda is recalling certain model year 2014 CTX700 motorcycles manufactured March 6, 2013, through April 11, 2013. Due to a manufacturing error, the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) may malfunction and lose anti-lock functionality.
Consequence: The anti-lock function may not perform properly allowing for wheel lock up and skidding, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Honda will notify owners and dealers will replace the ABS modulator, free of charge. Owners may contact Honda at 1-800-999-1009. Honda's recall number is JB0.

Reported: 2015-07-08 (July 8, 2015)
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 ST1300PA, 2014-2015 CB500, CBR500, CRF250L, CBR650, CTX700, NSS300, VT750, VT1300, 2015 CB300F, CBR300, CBR600, and 2014-2016 NC700 motorcycles. In the affected motorcycles, sealant may have been incorrectly applied to the starter relay switch, and as a result, the electrical system may have a loss of power.
Consequence: A loss of electrical power may cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace any affected starter relay switch, free of charge. The recall began on August 31, 2015. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is JS9 and JT0.
