Owner report 10068499 ยท 2004-05-08 (May 8, 2004)

MAJOR GAS LEAK AT FUEL FILTER IN NOV 03 AND FEB 04 AT SAME LOCATION. FUEL WAS RUNNING OUT OF BRAIDED LINE NEXT TO FILTER. GAS WAS HITTING PLATE THAT IS ABOVE EXHAUST PIPE. IF THIS PLATE WAS NOT THERE, THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A MAJOR FIRE BOTH TIMES. SUPPOSEDLY THE PLATE IS DESIGNED FOR TO KEEP WIRES FROM HOT EXHAUST. WE HAD 3700 MILES ON FIRST LEAK AND 5200 AT SECOND LEAK. *AK
