I was towing the trailer from Myrtle Beach, SC to Topping, VA. We had completed 286 miles of the trip and stopped for fuel and a 1 hour break in Stony Creek, VA. Upon stopping for fuel I walked around the trailer and checked the temperature of the tires and checked for any issues that could be seen during an inspection, such as irregular tread wear, punctures, and other damages that could have placed the tire in jeopardy. Reported: 2021-03-16 (March 16, 2021)
Highland Ridge RV (Highland Ridge) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Open Range, Mesa Ridge, Highlander, Silverstar fifth wheels, and 2019-2020 Open Range, Mesa Ridge and Silverstar travel trailers equipped with Dometic 3 burner cooking stoves. The saddle valve securing bolt may be overtightened, possibly damaging the O-ring seal and causing a continuous gas leak.
Consequence: A gas leak can increase the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Highland Ridge will notify owners, and dealers will install a remedy kit of gaskets, washers, thread locker bolts, and two round orange labels, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed on May 3, 2021. Owners may contact Highland Ridge customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Highland Ridge's number for this recall is 9904564.
