MOTORCYLE WAS SITTING WITH KICKSTAND DOWN. I THEN TURNED ON THE KEY AND HIT THE START BUTTON. THE MOTORCYCLE INSTANTLY STARTED UP AND BECAUSE IT WAS IN GEAR IT TOOK OFF ACROSS THE ROADWAY NEARLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT WITH ANOTHER MOTORVEHICLE. I THEN PUSHED IT OVER ON IT'S SIDE TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE BIKE. THE BIKE A 2004 DYNA SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO START IN GEAR,EVEN IF I WAS ON IT I MAY HAVE LOST CONTROL OF THE BIKE BECAUSE IT WOULD HAVE TOOK OFF BEFORE I WOULD HAVE BEEN READY. THE DAMAGE WAS TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BIKE,PIPES,TURNSIGNALS,AND F…

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HARLEY DAVIDSON SUPER GLIDE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CAM CHAIN TENSIONER FRACTURED AND BLOCKED THE OIL FILTER, WHICH CAUSED THE MOTORCYCLE TO STALL. THE MOTORCYCLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
