SEE COVER LETTER THE CONSUMER NOTICED BLISTERS ON THE FRAME OF HIS MOTORCYCLE. THE CONSUMER HAD METALLURGICAL TESTING DONE WHICH SHOWED THAT THE FRAME WAS RUSTED PRIOR TO FINAL ASSEMBLY AND COATING. THERE WAS ALSO CORROSION ON THE SWING ARM AND VISIBLE PITTING THROUGH THE CHROME. *NM

99V200000 · Fuel System, Gasoline:Storage:Tank Assembly
Reported: 1999-07-23 (July 23, 1999)
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTORCYCLES. THESE MOTORCYCLES WERE BUILT WITH A FUEL TANK VENT FITTING THAT COULD BE PLUGGED ALLOWING THE CARBURETOR TO OVERFLOW FUEL.
Consequence: THIS COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE FUEL TANK VENT FITTING AND, IF PLUGGED, WILL CORRECT THIS CONDITION.
