2024 Harley-Davidson FLHX: complaints, problems and recalls

I have my motorcycle setup to connect to my phone using Bluetooth. I used this to connect via Apple Car Play. I occasionally have an issue where my IPhone 13 Pro Plus screen goes black with a spinning wheel. The iPhone eventually restarts. This happens occasionally. I have heard other people in a Harley Facebook group complain about the same issue with their 2024 Street Glide and Road Glide.

The speedometer is off between 3 and 7 MPH, depending on the speed traveling. I took it in for service, and they stated they needed to consult with corporate. They never got back to me, and after a month, I reached out again, and they sent a text message stating the below: "David this is Jacob at Daytona HD. The contact owns a 2024 Harley Davidson FLHX Street Glide Motorcycle. The contact stated while riding at approximately 65 MPH, the motorcycle became unstable, and the handlebars and front wheel started to vibrate violently. The motorcycle was taken to a local dealer where the tire pressure and torque converter was inspected; however, no cause for the failure was found. The motorcycle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 200.

As I was operating in Virginia speed limits was 70 and above my 2024 Harley Street Glide began to wobble at high speeds.

Operating around New York City there’s a lot of potholes. Attempting to avoid potholes, I have hit a few and every time I may have hit one my bike feels as the tires are going to bust. The bike hits very hard.

Harley redesigned their fairings on the 2024+ Street Glides, and have had issues with "death wobble" at higher speeds. When going down the Interstate at 80+ MPH, the bike has terrible front end wobble which you cannot accelerate or decelerate out of the wobble. You have to almost come to a complete stop before the death wobble goes away. I have taken the motorcycle to 2 different dealerships and neither one could duplicate the problem. Brakes are not working properly. There is a pulse when applying the brakes. The brakes do not squarely apply pressure. There is a shutter when applying brakes.

The motorcycle becomes unstable and has a "death wobble". I purchased the motorcycle new from a Harley Davidson dealer and all service has been perform by the same dealer. The death wobble occurs at various situations including highway speed turns and straight high speed (~75-80 mph). This has occurred during calm and windy days. There was not rain and pavement was dry at the time of the incidents. Reported: 2024-09-16 (September 16, 2024)

Harley-Davidson Motor Company (Harley-Davidson) is recalling certain 2024 FLHX, FLHXSE, FLTRX, FLTRXSE, and FLTRXSTSE motorcycles. The voltage regulator output wire may rub on the front corner of the crankcase, exposing the wire and causing an electrical short circuit. A short can result in a loss of electrical power and drive power.

Consequence: The unexpected loss of drive power and the loss of electrical power while in motion increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and as necessary, repair the voltage regulator output wire harness, and install a secondary retention strap, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 23, 2024. Owners may contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 1-800-258-2464. Harley-Davidson's number for this recall is 0186.

Reported: 2026-04-28 (April 28, 2026)

Harley-Davidson Motor Company (Harley-Davidson) is recalling certain 2024-2026 FLTRX, FLHX, 2025-2026 FXBR, FLFB, 2025 FLHXU, 2026 FLTRXL, FLTRT, FLHXL, and FLHLT motorcycles built with an Airbox Baseplate (part number 29000373). The airbox backplate breather port may be blocked, allowing pressure to build up inside the crankcase.

Consequence: When the dipstick is removed while the crankcase is pressurized, oil may eject from the fill spout, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect the breather port, and if the port is blocked, repair the blockage, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 14, 2026. Owners may contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 1-800-258-2464. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov April 16, 2025.
