Reported: 2024-09-13 (September 13, 2024)

Great Dane Trailers (Great Dane) is recalling certain 2025 Champion Dry Van trailers. The rear impact guard may have been welded improperly.

Consequence: A rear impact guard that is not properly secured can increase the risk of injury during a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and repair the rear impact guard as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 5, 2024. Owners may contact Great Dane customer service at 1-877-369-3493.

24V922000 · Trailer Hitches | Structure:Frame And Members

Reported: 2024-12-11 (December 11, 2024)

Great Dane Trailers (Great Dane) is recalling certain 2025 Champion Dry Freight trailers. Missing kingpin welds may prevent the upper coupler from securely connecting the trailer.

Consequence: An unsecure connect may allow the trailer to detach from the tow vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Great Dane will inspect and replace the upper couplers as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 19, 2024. Owners may contact Great Dane customer service at 1-877-369-3493.

25V200000 · Tires

Reported: 2025-03-28 (March 28, 2025)

Great Dane Trailers (Great Dane) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Champion Dry Van trailers equipped with Bridgestone R123 Ecopia tires, size 295/75R22.5. The tires may have been manufactured incorrectly with one of the three stabilizer ply belts applied in the wrong orientation. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 119, "New pneumatic tires - other than passenger cars."

Consequence: Incorrect belt orientation may cause the tires to fail and increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Bridgestone (BATO) dealers will replace the tires, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 27, 2025. Owners may contact BATO customer service at 1-800-847-3272 or Great Dane customer service at 1-877-369-3493.

25V848000 · Structure:Body:Hatchback/Liftgate

Reported: 2025-12-09 (December 9, 2025)

Great Dane Trailers (Great Dane) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Champion trailers. The cylinder pin in the slide liftgate may be insufficiently lubricated, which can cause the pin to seize, resulting in lift gate failure.

Consequence: A lift gate that fails during operation increases the risk of injury.

Remedy: Great Dane will work with Hiab to replace the lift gate cylinder pins, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 28, 2026. Owners may contact Great Dane's customer service at 1-877-369-3493.
