Owner report 10551894 · 2013-11-12 (November 12, 2013)

WHILE DRIVING THE "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" ALERT POPPED UP AND THE ENGINE HAD NO POWER. THE CAR STARTED TO JUMP. ALONG WITH THE "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" ALERT THERE WAS ALSO A "STABILITRAK INDICATOR LIGHT" THAT ALSO CAME ON. WE PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND RESTARTED IT. ON TUESDAY 10/12 THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING. THANKFULLY, WE WERE ON OUR STREET AND GOT IT BACK TO THE DRIVEWAY WITHOUT ANY INCIDENTS. *TR

OVER A MONTH AGO I NOTICED A HUGE CRACK ABOVE STEERING COLUMN, THE RAISED PART. KNOWING IT WAS NOT A USER ERROR, I WAS PLANNING ON CONTACTING GMC. LAST WEEK I NOTICED ANOTHER CRACK ON LEFT SIDE OF AIR BAG. I DECIDED TO LOOK ONLINE AND SEE IF THIS HAPPENED TO OTHERS. AND YES IT HAS. THERE ARE SEVERAL YEARS AFFECTED, 1993, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF GMC OWNERS WHO HAVE CONTACTED GMC AS I HAVE JUST DONE, WITHOUT ASSISTANCE. NO RECALLS HAVE BEEN ISSUED. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND I'M VERY VERY UPSET, FRUSTRATED AND DISAPPOI…

OUR 2010 GMC YUKON XL HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT AND WELL MAINTAINED. LIKE MANY OTHER GMC TRUCK OWNERS OUR DASH CRACKED RIGHT NEAR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. IT IS GETTING LARGER AND HAS STARTED TO EXPOSE THE COMPONENTS UNDERNEATH THE DASH/AIRBAG COVER. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED ON NEWS CHANNELS AND A LAW SUIT HAS APPARENTLY BEEN FILED IN FLORIDA. HOPEFULLY THE DEALERSHIP OR GM WILL REPAIR.
