MY 2009 GMC YUKON XL HAS HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH THE "REDUCED POWER" MESSAGE. NOT ONLY IS THIS AFFECTING THE DRIVEABILITY OF OUR VEHICLE BUT ALSO THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY SINCE THIS IS OUR FAMILY CAR AND MY WIFE USUALLY IS DRIVING IT WITH OUT FOUR CHILDREN IN IT. IT ALL STARTED IN AUGUST WHEN THE REDUCED POWER MESSAGE CAME ON FOR MY WIFE WITH SERVICE STABILITRAC AND TRACTION CONTROL, WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING OUR KIDS TO SCHOOL. 2009 GMC YUKON XL, 61000 MILES. DASH AROUND THE AIRBAG AND ALL OVER THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER HAS CRACKED IN MULTIPLE PLACES. THIS VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS AND HAS NEVER BEEN DRIVEN OFF ROAD. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGED. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH CHEVY/GMC TRUCKS. IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS THERE IS A VERY GOOD CHANCE THAT PIECES OF THE DASH WILL POSE A SIGNIFICANT HAZARD TO THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS.

CRACK IN DASH BESIDE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. CRACK SEEMED TO APPEAR OVERNIGHT WITH NO TRAUMA TO THE DASH AT ALL. VEHICLE HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT. I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT IN THE EVENT THAT THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS, SHRAPNEL FROM THE CRACKED DASH WILL BE THROWN INTO MY PASSENGERS' FACES CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY.
