PE00 048; CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 65MPH ON HIGHWAY AND HEARD A NOISE. HE WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER, AND SAW THAT LEFT REAR TIRE (GOODYEAR WRANGLER GSA LT245/75R-16LE) HAD EXPERIENCED TREAD SEPARATION. *AK ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHILE TRAVELING 65 MPH, CONSUMER EXPERIENCED REPLACEMENT GOODYEAR WRANGLER TIRE(GSA 245-75-R-16LE) HAD TOTALLY LOST ALL OF ITS TREAD, THERE WAS DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. *TT

Reported: 1993-02-01 (February 1, 1993)
UNANTICIPATED HEAT IN THE TRANSMISSION CAN FORCE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID OUT OF THE VENT TUBE.
Consequence: THE VENTED TRANSMISSION FLUID CAN CATCH FIRE IF EXPOSEDTO A SOURCE OF IGNITION.
Remedy: INSTALL A LONGER TRANSMISSION VENT HOSE ROUTED TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT OF THE VEHICLE.
