GENIE IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 TZ-50 TRAILERS. MATERIALS USED IN THE BOOM AND CHASSIS COMPONENTS ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO CRACKING.
Consequence: CRACKING IN THESE SUPPORTING STRUCTURES COULD RESULT IN THE PLATFORM FALLING, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURIES AND/OR A VEHICLE CRASH.
Remedy: GENIE WILL BE CONTACTING DEALERS AND MACHINE OWNERS TO ARRANGE FOR THE WORK TO BE DONE AT A SPECIFIED GENIE FACILITY. THE SAFETY RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING JANUARY 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT GENIE'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT 800-536-1800.

GENIE IS RECALLING CERTAIN TZ-34 AND TZ-50 TRAILER MOUNTED AERIAL WORK PLATFORM BOOMS, MANUFACTURED FROM JANUARY 1, 2010, THROUGH MAY 1, 2011, BECAUSE THE MOTOR CONTROLLER CAN FAIL. THIS COMPONENT WAS ALSO INSTALLED AS A SERVICE PART REPLACEMENT ON TMZ 34/19 AND TMZ 50 UNITS AS PART NUMBER 96769 AND KIT 99854 FROM JANUARY 1, 2010, THROUGH AUGUST 7, 2011. THIS RECALL IS AN EXPANSION OF A PREVIOUS RECALL. PLEASE SEE RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER 11V-373.
Consequence: FAILURE OF THE MOTOR CONTROLLER CAN RESULT IN A FIRE.
Remedy: GENIE WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL REPAIR THE VEHICLES FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 8, 2012. OWNERS MAY CONTACT GENIE'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT 1-800-536-1800.
