Owner report 10289731 · 2009-10-25 (October 25, 2009)
I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH POOR QUALITY FROM FOUR WINDS INTERNATIONAL FOR THREE YEARS. 8 MONTHS AGO THEY SWAPPED OUT MY FIRST DEFECTIVE PRODUCT FOR A REPLACEMENT UNIT. TWO WEEKS AGO I WAS DRIVING THE REPLACEMENT MOTORHOME DOWN THE ROAD AND ALL OF THE WELDS THAT HOLD THE PROPANE TANK IN PLACE UNDER THE COACH PORTION OF THE MOTORHOME, LET GO. AT 50 MPH I WAS DRAGGING AN 80# (THAT IS CAPACITY, NOT ACTUAL WEIGHT) PROPANE TANK UNDERNEATH THE MOTORHOME. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT DEFECT THAT COULD HAVE COST ME MY LIFE. THE MANUFACTURE DOES …

Reported: 2006-09-13 (September 13, 2006)
ON CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES BUILT ON WORKHORSE CHASSIS AND EQUIPPED WITH GM 8.1L V8 ENGINES, IMPROPER HARDENING DURING THE HEAT TREATMENT PROCESS CAN CAUSE THE FUEL RAIL PULSE DAMPER RETAINER CLIP TO FRACTURE, RESULTING IN INADEQUATE RETENTION OF THE DAMPER. IF THE DAMPER BECOMES LOOSE, FUEL COULD BE PUMPED BY THE FUEL PUMP INTO THE UNDER HOOD AREA.
Consequence: IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, A FIRE COULD RESULT.
Remedy: CHEVROLET AND WORKHORSE ARE HANDLING THE OWNER NOTIFICATION AND REMEDY FOR THIS CAMPAIGN (PLEASE SEE 06V225 AND 06V289). DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL RAIL PULSE DAMPER RETAINER CLIPS ON THESE ENGINES FREE OF CHARGE. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHEVROLET AT 1-800-630-2438, WORKHORSE AT 877-294-6773 OR THOR INDUSTRIES AT 937-596-6849.

Reported: 2017-11-22 (November 22, 2017)
Thor Motor Coach (Thor) is recalling various 2003-2018 recreational vehicles, equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. See a list of the affected trailer models at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V758-5764.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf
Consequence: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Thor will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. Owners may contact Thor customer service at 1-877-500-1020, or Kidde customer service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information.
