I OWN A '93 FORD EXPLORER. ABOUT 4-5 YEARS AGO, THE LIFT BACK DOOR TOTALLY SEPARATED FROM THE BODY - THE HINGES TORE OUT OF THE METAL. I TOOK IT TO MERIDIAN FORD IN MERIDIAN IDAHO FOR REPAIR - AND THEY REPAIRED IT AT NO CHARGE, INFORMING ME THAT THE DOOR PROBLEM WAS ON "RECALL". I STILL OWN THE CAR, AND THE SAME PROBLEM IS DEVELOPING AGAIN; I CAN TELL THE DOOR HINGES ARE AGAIN BEGINNING TO SEPARATE FROM THE CAR BODY AND I TRY TO AVOID USING THAT REAR DOOR IN ORDER TO KEEP IT FROM COMING LOOSE AND FALLING OFF AGAIN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1993 FORD EXPLORER. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DRIVEN IN FOUR DAYS. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT DIAGNOSED THE CAUSE AS ELECTRICAL. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE 125,000. PICTURES AND FIRE REPORT WERE AVAILABLE. *AK

TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 1993 FORD EXPLORER SPORT. WHEN THE BRAKE WAS APPLIED THE PEDAL WOULD GO TO THE FLOOR AND DID NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. THE BRAKES HAD TO BE APPLIED MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE THEY ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER 02/13/2008, AND THE VEHICLE OWNER WAS TOLD THAT THE COST OF THE VEHICLE REPAIR WAS HIS RESPONSIBILITY. THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL 94V169001 - PARKING BRAKE CONVENTIONAL. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 46,700, AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,500. UPDATED 03-11-08 *BF

3 OF THE 4 TIRES HAD THE TREADS OPENNING AND SEPARATING ON THEM SHOWING THE WIRES INSIDE THE TIRES, SOME SEPARATION ALSO OCCURED AROUND THE OUTSIDE RIM OF THE TIRE, THIS RESULTED IN HANDLING PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE, THE TIRES WERE LESS THAN 1 YEAR OLD WITH 83% OF THE TREAD REMAINING, FIRESTONE REFUSES REIMBURSEMENT BECAUSE THE CONSUMER NO LONGER HAS THE TIRES.
