RIGHT REAR CHILD LOCK FAILED. MY 3 YEAR OLD WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR AND ONCE HE OPENED IT THE DOOR BECAME JAMMED AND WOULD NO LONGER CLOSE. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WAS CALLED. VERY UPSET ABOUT INCIDENT BECAUSE IF MY SPEED WOULD HAVE BEEN FASTER AND AN OLDER CHILD WOULD HAVE OPENED IT THERE COULD HAVE BEEN INJURIES.

I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE MY BRAND NEW 2015 EDGE WITH THE BATTERY LIGHT ON AND WAS TOLD THAT IT MAY BE A FAULTY LIGHT THAT WOULD TURN OFF. COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER LIGHT WAS STILL ON. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY NEAREST DEALER AND WAS TOLD MY ALTERNATOR HAD TO BE REPLACED AND THAT I SHOULD NOT DRIVE THE CAR FURTHER. I WAS OUT OF A CAR FOR 1 WEEK BECAUSE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE .

THE CAR LEAKS WATER WHEN IT RAINS. THERE WERE PUDDLES OF WATER ON THE FLOOR... THE COMPLETE CRUMPLE ZONE WAS FILLED WITH WATER PUSHING UP THROUGH THE PADDING AND CARPET. FORD FAILED TO PUT A NECESSARY SEAL BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE FRONT FENDER. IN ADDITION TO THE INTERIOR DAMAGES TO THE CAR, I AM WORRIED OF THE STRUCTURE INTEGRITY OF THE CRUMPLE ZONE AND FRAME CAUSED BY WATER SITTING IN THE CAR FOR MONTHS.

THE REAR GLASS VISTA ROOF PANEL CRACKED ALONG THE ENTIRETY OF THE GLASS ROOF. CRACKS ALL ALONG EVERY EDGE OF THE GLASS THAT DON'T INTERSECT WITH EACH OTHER AND FORD CLAIMS THAT ONE AREA HAD TO BE THE POINT OF IMPACT. THERE IS NO WAY POSSIBLE FOR GLASS TO CRACK ON THE OPPOSITE END AND DOESN'T INTERSECT WITH THE ALLEGED POINT OF IMPACT FOR IT TO HAVE BEEN THE CAUSE. SEVERAL OCCURRENCES OF STALLING WHEN COMING TO/NEAR STOP AND ACCELERATING. THE PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED ABOUT ONCE PER MONTH (FOUR TIMES OVER FOUR MONTHS). OCCURRENCES INCLUDE COMING TO A STOP AT A RED LIGHT, SLOWING FOR A SPEED BUMP, AND SLOWING TO MAKE A TURNS. SIGNIFICANT RISK OF AN ACCIDENT FROM THE CAR STALLING IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC OR HIGH SPEED INTERSECTION.

WHEN MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN AFTER MAKING A FULL STOP THE VEHICLE LITERALLY STOPPED. I COULD NOT GIVE THE CAR THE GAS , IT WOULD NOT MOVE. I LUCKILY - PULLED OVER , PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTARTED IT. THIS IS SCARY AND I NEED TO KNOW WHY THIS IS HAPPENING.I HAVE HAD IT 10 DAYS AND THERE IS 457 MILES ON IT. I JUST LOOKED UP SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE THROTTLE BODY AND FORD. THIS NEEDS AN INVESTIGATION AND RECALL AS I SEE IT.

THE 2015 FORD EDGE (V6, AWD) I HAVE, HAS A MOTION-SENSORED TAILGATE THAT OPENS AND CLOSES WITH THE WAVE OF YOUR FOOT UNDERNEATH THE REAR BUMPER. WHILE LOADING GROCERIES AND LEANING INTO VEHICLE, THE TAILGATE HAS RANDOMLY STARTED TO CLOSE ON ME. THE FIRST TIME IT HIT ME IN THE HEAD AND CONTINUED TO CLOSE, EVEN THOUGH MY BODY WAS STILL "LEANING INSIDE" THE TRUNK AREA. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD EDGE. WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND IT RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles manufactured February 3, 2012, to March 20, 2015, and 2015 Ford Edge vehicles manufactured February 26, 2015, to February 28, 2015, and originally sold, or currently registered in, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia. In the affected vehicles, snow or water containing road salt or other contaminants may corrode the electric power steering gear motor attachment bolts.

Consequence: If the bolts corrode, the steering gear motor may detach from the gear housing resulting in a loss of power steering assist. Loss of power steering assist would require a higher steering effort, especially at lower speeds, which may increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will apply sealer and replace the steering gear motor bolts as required. If one or more of the steering gear motor attachment bolts are broken or missing, a new steering gear will be installed in the vehicle. These repairs will be performed free of charge. Reported: 2016-10-12 (October 12, 2016)

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Ford Edge vehicles manufactured February 9, 2015, to August 12, 2016. During dealer servicing, the affected vehicles may be have been updated with incorrect Antilock Brake System (ABS) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) software. This software can cause the ESC system to lose engine torque control, and not provide any warning lamps to warn the driver if there was an ABS or ESC system malfunction. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems" and number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."

Consequence: If the operator is not warned of an ABS or ESC malfunction and the ESC loses engine torque control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.

Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ABS module, and update the service software, free of charge. The recall begin November 22, 2016. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16C14.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ, 2015-2016 Ford Edge, and 2016 Lincoln MKX vehicles originally sold, or currently registered in Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Road salt or other contaminants may corrode the electric power steering gear motor attachment bolts.

Reported: 2020-08-10 (August 10, 2020)

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Ford Edge and 2016-2018 Lincoln MKX vehicles. The front brake hoses may rupture prematurely.

Consequence: A ruptured front brake hose will cause a brake fluid leak, lengthening the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front brake hoses with the new hoses that have a revised braid material, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 13, 2021. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 20S42.

Reported: 2022-06-10 (June 10, 2022)

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2019 Escape, 2013-2018 C-Max, 2013-2016 Fusion, 2013-2021 Transit Connect, and 2015-2018 Edge vehicles. The bushing that attaches the shifter cable to the transmission may degrade or detach.

Consequence: A damaged or missing bushing may prevent the vehicle from shifting into the intended gear, and cause the vehicle to move in an unexpected direction. Additionally, the vehicle may roll after the driver selects the 'Park' position. Either scenario increases the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the under hood shift bushing and add a protective cap over the shift cable bushing, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters, informing owners of the safety risk, were mailed July 1, 2022. Remedy parts are expected to be available in 4th Quarter 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed October 27, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S43.

Reported: 2025-08-22 (August 22, 2025)

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2016-2018 Lincoln MKX and 2015-2018 Edge vehicles. The rear brake jounce hose may rupture and leak brake fluid.

Consequence: A brake fluid leak can extend the distance required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the brake jounce hoses and adjust brake jounce hoses with no damage present, free of charge. Interim owner letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed September 8, 2025. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated August 2026. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2019 Lincoln MKC, Mustang, F-350 SD, F-250 SD, F-450 SD, 2015-2017 Lincoln Navigator, Expedition, 2015-2018 Edge, Transit Connect, 2016-2019 F-550 SD, Transit, 2017-2019 Econoline, and 2019 Ranger vehicles. The rearview camera may display a distorted, inverted, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse.

Consequence: A rearview camera that displays an inverted, distorted, or blank image can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the rearview camera as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 13, 2026. Ford owners will receive letters in phases, beginning January 2026 and June 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S89.
