2005 FLEETWOOD ORBIT'S FOUR BRAKES HAD DAMAGED WIRING SHORTING THE BRAKE SYSTEM. *KB THE WIRES TO THE MAGNETS WERE RUBBING ON THE HUBS TO THE EXTENT THAT ONE PAIR WAS WORN THROUGH, SHORTING OUT THE BRAKE SYSTEM. THE ONE GOOD BRAKE DID NOT HAVE THE WIRE RETAINING CLIPS FASTENED. THE BRAKES WERE BY QUALITY TRAILER PRODUCTS. ONE WHEEL WAS BADLY MISALIGNED RESULTING IN EXTREME TIRE WEAR. WITHIN THE FIRST 500 MILES ONE WIRE FROM THE BRAKE HOUSING SHORTED TO THE FRAME RESULTING IN BRAKE FAILURE, THE WIRE DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH SLACK. *NM

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FLEETWOOD ORBIT FIFTH WHEEL TRAILER WITH A DOMETIC REFRIGERATOR, MODEL NUMBER RM2652. THE CONTACT STATED THAT REFRIGERATOR WAS REPLACED TWICE WITHIN TWO YEARS DUE TO AMMONIA LEAKING FROM THE UNIT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHO REPLACED THE UNIT AT THEIR EXPENSE BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF THE UNIT CATCHING FIRE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE UNAVAILABLE.

Reported: 2005-04-28 (April 28, 2005)
CERTAIN TOWABLE TRAVEL TRAILERS WERE BUILT WITHOUT A BEDROOM EMERGENCY EGRESS WINDOW.
Consequence: IN THE EVENT OF A FIRE OR OTHER EMERGENCY, PERSONS IN THE FRONT BEDROOM AREA MUST EXIT THROUGH THE ACCESS DOOR. IF THE ACCESS DOOR IS BLOCKED, THERE IS NO WAY OUT OF THE TRAILER, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURIES TO THE TRAILER OCCUPANTS.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE CURRENT SLIDING WINDOW WITH AN EMERGENCY EGRESS EXIT WINDOW FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MAY 27, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FLEETWOOD FOLDING TRAILER AT 1-814-445-9661.
