Reported: 2006-11-30 (November 30, 2006)
CERTAIN FIFTH WHEEL TRAILERS FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF PART 567, "CERTIFICATION." THE FEDERAL CERTIFICATION TAG WAS PRINTED WITH AN INCORRECT TIRE VALUE OF 80 PSI AND THE CORRECT TIRE PRESSURE VALUE IS 65 PSI.
Consequence: DRIVING WITH OVER-INFLATED TIRES CAN CAUSE OR CONTRIBUTE TO PREMATURE TIRE FAILURE THAT COULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy: OWNERS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH NEW FEDERAL CERTIFICATION TAG INFORMATION ALONG WITH INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. AT THE CUSTOMER'S OPTION, A DEALER CAN PERFORM THE INSTALLATION FOR THEM FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JANUARY 12, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FLEETWOOD AT 800-445-3307.
