Owner report 10692383 · 2015-03-05 (March 5, 2015)

EXAMINATION OF THE UNDERSIDE OF THE SOFA/COUCH OF THE MOTORHOME REVEALED THAT THE SECURING BOLTS HAVE NEVER BEEN INSTALLED. THE SOFA IS A SEATBELT ZONE, AND WITHOUT PROPER MOUNTING TO THE DECK OF THE RV, THE COUCH IS A SAFETY HAZARD TO OCCUPANTS WHO SIT IN THE SOFA. THE RIG IS RATED FOR 5 SEATBELTED PASSENGERS (DRIVER, PASSENGER, AND THREE ON COUCH). THIS WAS REPORTED TO DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY REFUSED TO RECTIFY. FURTHER INVESTIGATION BY OWNER INDICATES THAT VEHICLE LIKELY LEFT THE FACTORY IN THIS CONDITION AS IT DOES NOT APPEAR…

1 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

Reported: 2012-08-21 (August 21, 2012)

Fleetwood RV is recalling certain model year 2013 Excursion motor homes manufactured from March 27, 2012, through July 24, 2012. A threaded fastener installed on the turn shaft of the slide-out mechanism may come into contact with a portion of the diesel fuel fill hose while the turn shaft is rotating. If the fastener makes contact with the fuel fill hose, there is a possibility that it will abrade the fuel fill hose and cause a leak.

Consequence: Leaking fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Fleetwood RV will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, as necessary, shorten the threaded fastener to achieve clearance of the fuel line free of charge. The safety recall began on September 11, 2012. Owners may contact Fleetwood RV owner relations at 1-800-509-3418.
