Reported: 1999-05-04 (May 4, 1999)

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: FOLDING TRAILERS. IMPROPER TIRE CLEARANCE (LESS THAN 5/8") BETWEEN THE WHEEL AND FRONT FRAME CROSS MEMBER CAN RESULT IN THE TIRE RUBBING THE METAL FRAME.

Consequence: A LOSS OF TIRE TREAD, OVERHEATING, AND POSSIBLE TIRE FAILURE COULD OCCUR.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE TRAILERS AND CORRECT TIRE CLEARANCE.
