FEATHERLITE MODEL 3110 CAR TRAILER. TANDEM AXLE FENDERS ARE SECURED IN PLACE BY SPRING LOADED CLAMPS. THE CLAMPS ARE NOT SUFFICIENT TO HOLD THE FENDER ON THE VEHICLE. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE CLAMPS CAME LOOSE AFTER TRAVELING OVER A POTHOLE. YESTERDAY ON THE INTERSTATE, THE CLAMPS CAME LOOSE AND THE FENDER LEFT THE VEHICLE IN HEAVY HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC. SEVERAL CARS WERE STRUCK AND THE LARGE TANDEM FENDER BECAME A HAZARD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE. THE DESIGN NEEDS TO BE RUGGEDIZED TO PROVIDE A SAFE AND SECURE CLAMP SYSTEM, ENSURING THAT THE…
