Owner report 726833 ยท 2000-08-06 (August 6, 2000)
WE WERE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 70MPH FOR ABOUT 5 MILES. WE FELT A SLIGHT VIBRATION FOR SEVERAL SECONDS FOLLOWED BY THE TIRE COMING APART AND THE VAN VEERING OVER ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD (WE WERE IN THE LEFT LANE FORTUNATELY). WHEN I GOT OUT TO LOOK AT THE TIRE, I FOUND THE TREAD HAD COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM THE SIDEWALL, BUT WAS INTACT. AFTER TAKING THE TIRE TO THE LOCAL FIRESTONE DEALER, THEY REPLACED IT UNDER WARRANTY (THEY COULD FIND NO PUCTURES OR PROBLEMS). *AK( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: P215/70R15 )
