TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DUTCHMEN LITE 25C-GS TRAVEL TRAILER (N/A)EQUIPPED WITH TRAIL EXPRESS SIZE ST205/75D15 (N/A). THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES DID NOT PASS INSPECTION DUE TO DRY ROTTING AND UNEVEN WEAR. THE CONTACT PURCHASED FOUR NEW TIRES AT HIS EXPENSE. THE CONTACT CALLED BOTH THE AUTHORIZED DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THE TIRES WERE NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,000.

DUTCHMEN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2009-2010 DUTCHMAN AND FOUR WINDS TRAILERS MANUFACTURED BY DUTCHMAN BECAUSE THEY FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF PART 567, "CERTIFICATION." THE FEDERAL IDENTIFICATION TAG TIRE AND LOADING INFORMATION LABEL DOES NOT CONTAIN THE CORRECT SIZE.

Consequence: DURING REPLACEMENT OF THE TIRES, A CONSUMER COULD INSTALL THE INCORRECT TIRE POTENTIALLY LEADING TO A CRASH.

Remedy: DUTCHMAN WILL MAIL THE APPROPRIATE LABELS TO OWNERS FREE OF CHARGE. IF THE CUSTOMER REQUIRES ASSISTANCE INSTALLING THE LABELS, A DEALER WILL INSTALL THE LABEL. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER 4, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DUTCHMEN AT 1-866-869-1109.
