MY MOTORCYCLE HAS A PLASTIC GAS TANK WHICH HAS BEGUN TO EXPAND. THE OUTSIDE DIMENSIONS OF THE TANK HAVE INCREASED AND IT NOW DOES NOT SIT CORRECTLY IN THE FRAME, THE HANDLEBARS HIT IT ON TURNING, AND IT PRESSES AGAINST THE IGNITION SWITCH. PREVIOUSLY IT OPENED AND CLOSED WITHOUT PROBLEMS, NOW I HAVE TO WEDGE IT AGAINST THE IGNITION SWITCH TO CLOSE IT. THE RUBBER MOUNTS NO LONGER SIT ON THE FRAME. I HAVE NOT SIGNIFICANTLY MODIFIED MY MOTORCYCLE EXCEPT FOR AN AFTERMARKET EXHAUST AND SOME COSMETIC CHANGES. I HAVE MADE NO MODIFICATIONS TO T…

FUEL TANK IS EXPANDING , CAUSING MOUNTING POINTS TO BE MISALIGNED WITH MOTORCYCLE FRAME. IF EXPANSION CONTINUES, I AM CONCERNED STEERING MOVEMENT WILL BE RESTRICTED, AND THAT THE TANK MAY DEFORM TO THE POINT THAT IT LEAKS, POSING A FIRE HAZARD. THIS MOTORCYCLE WAS ORIGINALLY DELIVERED AUGUST 4TH, 2007. I SHOWED THE DEALER THE PROBLEM, AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGED IT EXISTED, BUT STATED "DUCATI DOESN'T RECOGNIZE THE PROBLEM". THE MOTORCYCLE MODEL IS A 2007 DUCATI MONSTER S2R800; I SELECTED S2R1000 IN THE FOLLOWING WINDOW BECAUSE IT MOST CLOSELY RESEMBL…

MY MOTORCYCLE HAS A PLASTIC GAS TANK WHICH HAS BEGUN TO EXPAND. THE OUTSIDE DIMENSIONS OF THE TANK HAVE INCREASED AND IT NOW DOES NOT SIT CORRECTLY IN THE FRAME AND IT PRESSES AGAINST THE IGNITION SWITCH. PREVIOUSLY IT OPENED AND CLOSED WITHOUT PROBLEMS, BUT AT THIS POINT I WAS INSTRUCTED BY THE DEALER NOT TO EVEN TRY TO OPEN IT UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY AS IT WOULD BE INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT TO CLOSE. THE RUBBER MOUNTS NO LONGER SIT ON THE FRAME. I HAVE NOT SIGNIFICANTLY MODIFIED MY MOTORCYCLE EXCEPT FOR AN AFTERMARKET EXHAUST AND SOME C…

GAS TANK IS EXPANDING DUE TO ETHANOL IN THE FUEL. THE TANK DOES NOT SIT CORRECTLY ON THE FRAME NOW. IT IS ALSO DIFFICULT TO ENGAGE THE TANK LATCH. EXPANSION COULD CAUSE THE TANK TO RUPTURE UNEXPECTEDLY AND CAUSE A FIRE ON THE RIDER. *TR

THE GAS TANK ON MY 2007 DUCATI S2R100 IS DEFORMING. IS BULGING TO THE POINT THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH IS ABOUT TO POKE THROUGH THE TANK ITSELF. I NOTICED THIS SEVERAL WEEKS AGO, AND DID SOME ONLINE RESEARCH. IT SEEMS SEVERAL PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. I WILL TAKE MY BIKE TO THE DEALER AS SOON AS WE HAVE SOME DECENT WEATHER TO SEE IF THEY WILL REPLACE IT. *TR
