2005 DUCATI MONSTER 620 WITH A PLASTIC TANK THAT IS EXPANDING. THE DIMENSIONS OF THE TANK HAVE CHANGED SO MUCH THAT THE TANK NOW INTERFERES WITH THE TANK LATCH, THE HANDLEBARS NOW MAKE CONTACT WITH THE TANK WHEN TURNING, AND IT IS PRESSED AGAINST THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE TANK RUBBER MOUNTS NO LONGER REST ON THE FRAME. Reported: 2006-09-28 (September 28, 2006)

ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE FUEL PUMP AND IGNITION RELAYS INSTALLED DURING PRODUCTION COULD BE DEFECTIVE. THIS CAN CAUSE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL TO STOP FUNCTIONING AND THE ENGINE TO STOP.

Consequence: IF THE ENGINE STOPPED WHILE THE MOTORCYCLE WAS BEING DRIVEN, IT COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP AND IGNTION RELAYS. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING OCTOBER 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DUCATI AT 1-408-253-0499.
