Owner report 10000495 · 2003-01-03 (January 3, 2003)
ON THREE OCCASIONS, CENTER CAPS ON FRONT SPORT RIMS HAVE POPPED OFF DURING DRIVING. HAVE HAD TO ORDER 3 DIFFERENT TIMES FROM DEALER FOR NEW ONES AND THEY STILL DENY THAT ANY OTHER CONSUMERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE PROBLEM. I PERSONALLY HAVE NOTICED OTHER RAM TRUCKS (EVEN ONE AT THE DEALERSHIP) WITH MISSING CENTER CAPS SO THIS MUST BE SOME KIND OF PROBLEM. ONLY HAPPENS TO FRONT TIRES BUT ALL WHEELS WHEN ROTATED TO FRONT. TS

THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES WERE REPLACED ONCE TO CORRECT THE NOISES AND (THE HOSES-PER SERVICE BULLETIN) WERE REPLACED. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE OR A REFUND. SINCE THE PURCHASE, THE VEHICLE ALWAYS HAD A NOISE IN THE POWER STEERING. THE PUMP WAS REPLACED TWICE BECAUSE OF THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKE FAILURES. THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THERE ALSO WAS A BROKEN WINDOW, RADIO, AND THE GEAR KNOB NEEDED TO BE TIGHTENED/ALIGNED. MR SCC

I HAVE A 2001 DODGE DUALLY THAT I USE TO PULL A TRAILER FOR MY JOB. THE TRUCK IS SUPOSED TO BE RATED FOR OVER 15000LBS TOWING. MY TRAILER COMBINED WEIGHT ISN'T OVER 8000 AT ANY TIME. THE FACTORY RECEIVER HITCH WHICH IS RATED AT 11,000 HAS CRACKED WHERE IT MOUNTS TO THE FRAME. THE CRACK HAS GONE THROUGH THE FIRST OF 3 MOUNTS STARTING AT THE FRONT ON EACH SIDE. LUCKILY I DISCOVERED THIS DURING A ROUTINE INSPECTION. I HAD A FRIEND THAT HAD THIS SAME THING HAPPEN TO HIM ON HIS DODGE. IF THE HITCH HAD BROKE LOOSE WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEE…
