My family took a trip from Colorado to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. I began feeling a strange sway in the trailer about half-way through Grand Tetons National Park. When we arrived at our campground in Yellowstone, I noticed that I was unable to level the camper properly and began looking at potential causes. The I-Beam type frame broke at and around where the rear axle mount shackle is welded to the frame. The frame itself is what broke, and not the welds of the shackle.
