TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1993 COACHMAN SANTARA EQUIPPED WITH BCT RADIO A/P TIRES (N/A) (LT 235/85/R16) DOT OJ21XA3. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE NOTICED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE OUTER TIRE HAD BLOWN OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTO SHOP, WHERE THE TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE MECHANIC PLACED THE NEW TIRE ON THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE INSIDE TIRE AND PLACED ONE OF THE ORIGINAL TIRES ON THE REAR PASSENGER OUTSIDE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED A SECOND TIME AND ALSO OCCURRED TO THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE …

THE SCREWS USED TO MOUNT THE TELEVISION INTO AN OVERHEAD CABINET ARE NOT LONG ENOUGH TO PROPERLY SECURE THE TELEVISION TO THE ENCLOSURE BASE. THIS CAN CAUSE THE TELEVISION TO FALL OUT OF THE CABINET AND ONTO THE HEAD OF THE VEHICLE OPERATOR.
Consequence: THE OPERATOR CAN SUSTAIN INJURIES AND POSSIBLY LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REMOUNT THE TELEVISIONS WITH CORRECT FASTENERS.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTOR HOMES WITH BASEMENT CONVERTERS AND BASEMENT FREEZERS. A GROMMET MAY BE MISSING ALLOWING THE 110-VOLT WIRE TO RUB AGAINST A METAL EDGE.
Consequence: IF A DIRECT SHORT WERE TO OCCUR, THE POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR A FIRE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE MOTOR HOMES TO DETERMINE IF THE SUBJECT WIRES ARE PROPERLY PROTECTED. IF THEY ARE NOT, PROPER PROTECTION WILL BE ADDED, AND IF NECESSARY, THE WIRING WILL BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED.
