I purchased a 2022 Forest River Clipper Model #272RLS on 10-28-2023. We put it in storage for the winter and took it out for the first time on May 19-2024. Driving down the freeway at 70 miles an hour the water tank fell out and was dragging on the road. We took it to the dealer the next day. We received a Recall NHTSA RECALL: 24V339 FOREST RIVER ID: 121-1777. The fix was to add another strap. Myself and the dealership did not think this was adequate. Reported: 2024-05-15 (May 15, 2024)
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Coachmen Independence Trail, 2020-2024 Viking, and 2021-2024 Clipper travel trailers. The freshwater tank may detach from the vehicle when full or overfilled.
Consequence: A detached tank can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will install additional attachment straps to the tank, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 11, 2024. Owners may contact Forest River Customer Service at 1-574-825-6319. Forest River's number for this recall is 121-1777.
