Owner report 10135806 · 2005-09-08 (September 8, 2005)

WE OWN TWO CHEVROLET 4 X4 Z 71 PICKUPS AND HAVE HAD INSIDE DOOR HANDLE FAILURES REPEATEDLY ON BOTH VEHICLES. TWICE IN THE LAST WEEK WE HAVE BEEN TRAPPED INSIDE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE WE HAVE ELECTRIC WINDOWS AND THE KEYS WERE NOT IN THE VEHICLE. THE DOORS CANNOT BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE! WE HAVE REPLACED THESE DOOR HANDLES ON BOTH PICKUPS AT LEAST 3 TIMES AND THE NEW HANDLES DO NOT LAST MORE THAN 2-3 WEEKS! THESE HANDLES ARE EXPENSIVE AND FAIL SOON AFTER REPLACEMENT. IN THE EVENT OF A FIRE OR ACCIDENT THIS COULD BE FATAL. *JB
