WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 35 MPH MY VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER RELATING TO THE BRAKES AND STEERING. (THE RADIO AND LIGHTS WERE STILL OPERATING.) THE ONLY THING I COULD DO WAS COAST TO A STOP. THIS CAUSED ME TO RUN A RED LIGHT, BUT FORTUNATELY THE ONLY CAR GOING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION HAD JUST CLEARED IT BEFORE I ENTERED THE INTERSECTION.*AK

Owner report 10119451 · 2005-05-03 (May 3, 2005)

I HAVE A 2000 CHEVROLET ASTRO VAN WHICH I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE FOR ABOUT A YEAR BECAUSE OF MALFUNCIONING ANTILOCK BRAKES. I BROUGHT IT TO BE REPAIRED LAST YEAR BUT AFTER PAYING OVER $800 THE PROBLEM REMAINS. THE ANTILOCK BRAKES PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM STOPPING WHEN TRAVELING AT SLOW SPEEDS. TODAY I HEARD OF AN INVESTIGATION OF THIS VERY PROBLEM ON SIMILAR CHEVY SUVS AND TRUCKS, BUT THE ASTRO VAN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE ARTICLE I READ. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF MY VEHICLE WILL BE INCLUDED IN THIS ACTION. THANK YOU! ANDREA AMODEO, 1059 …
