Owner report 10184123 · 2007-03-03 (March 3, 2007)
1999 CHEVY EXPRESS VAN. RIGHT AND LEFT BRAKE LIGHTS FAIL TO OPERATE CORRECTLY. APPLICATION OF BRAKES CAUSES BRAKE LIGHT TO DIM INSTEAD OF GETTING BRIGHTER. PROBLEM OBSERVED IN MANY CHEVY EXPRESS VANS WITH IDENTICAL TAIL LIGHTS. PROBLEM TRACED TO CORRODED GROUND CONNECTION IN BOTH TAIL LIGHT/BRAKE LIGHT BULB SOCKETS. ADVANCE AUTO PARTS AND NAPA SELL REPLACEMENT WIRING HARNESSES THAT INCLUDES ALL THREE BULB SOCKETS. ADVANCE AUTO PARTS UNIT MUST HAVE THE CONNECTOR RECONFIGURED TO MATCH THE FACTORY BODY CONNECTOR. *JB

I OWN A 1999 CHEVROLET EXPRESS 1500 VAN WITH LESS THAN 50,000 MILES ON IT. I PURCHASED THE VAN NEW IN 1999. I NOW HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE FALLING PAST 80 PSI ALL THE TIME. EVEN WHEN THE VAN IS NOT RUNNING. I HAVE TRIED TWO DIFFERENT CLUSTER WITH THE SAME RESULTS. I HAVE NOT CONFIDENCE THAT ANYONE AT GM KNOWS HOW TO FIX THIS ISSUE. NO RESOLUTION CAN BE FOUND. *TR
