2024 Chevrolet COLORADO: complaints, problems and recalls

The forward collision avoidance system which controls the automatic emergency braking is showing as unavailable. This is after the parking brake warning light comes on and the brake master cylinder or BCM or both makes clicking noises after driving.

Bought my son 16 year old a new truck, truck only has 517 miles on it. He was driving 45 miles/hour on street, dashboard warning lights all lit up ABS, Brake and Check Engine. Brakes failed. Was able to pull into a parking lot eventually but a very serious safety issue/concern and this truck should be recalled immediately.

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and making a right turn, the left turn signal activated independently. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was not diagnosed. The dealer was unaware of how to service the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage is unknown.

I was driving the vehicle up a mountain, in a 70m speed zone, when the dash board lit up. The vehicle started to decelerate, I pushed the gas petal but it just decelerated. I put on the emergency light and continued to the exit. Stopping in Liberty Pa, at an Exxon station. Called GM roadside assistance. On-Demand Diagnostics stated: ECM-Engine System code P00700. About 30 minutes after driving at low/ moderate speeds, the emergency automatic braking system and five other braking systems failed while the vehicle was in motion. Parking brake was used but nothing worked until the car was in neutral and came to a natural stop. Almost caused an accident.

Occasional lag in camera systems turning on. When trying to maneuver in close quarters will turn on front and 360 cameras and sometimes have to push the camera button multiple times and up to 4 seconds delay in cameras coming on

Reported: 2024-05-23 (May 23, 2024)

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2024 Chevrolet Colorado vehicles. Incorrect tires may have been installed that do not match the tire label, and the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) may provide inaccurate information for the installed tires. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 110, "Tire Selection and Rims" and 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems."

Consequence: A tire label that does not accurately reflect the installed tires may result in the installation of incorrectly sized tires. In addition, the TPMS may not warn the driver of a drop in tire pressure. Both of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the tires as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 19, 2024. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N242444030.

Reported: 2024-06-28 (June 28, 2024)

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2024 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon vehicles. The lock ring that secures the fuel pump to the fuel tank assembly may not have been fully locked during assembly, which can result in a fuel leak during a crash.

Consequence: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and fully lock the fuel tank lock ring as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 13, 2024. Reported: 2024-09-19 (September 19, 2024)

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Chevrolet Colorado and 2023 GMC Canyon vehicles. The left or right front seat may have a seat belt buckle attachment bolt that was not tightened properly.

Consequence: A loose seat belt may not properly restrain an occupant in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will tighten the left and right front seat belt buckle attachment bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 30, 2024.
