WINDSHIELD WIPERS DO NOT WORK SOMETIMES AND DO AT OTHER TIMES. RECENTLY, IN A HEAVY RAIN ON THE HIGHWAY THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS DID NOT COME ON WHEN ACTIVATED. AFTER A MINUTE OR TWO THEY SOMETIMES COME ON. OTHER TIMES THEY MAY WORK PERFECTLY. THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP SAID THERE WAS A RECALL FOR MY YEAR MODEL AND A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS VEHICLE BUT MY MODEL DID NOT QUALIFY FOR THE REPAIR DUE TO VIN. DT: THE CONTACT STATES THAT 1994 CHEVROLET C 2500 SILVERADO HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL WORK AND STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF A CYCLE. THEN, HAS TO WAIT A COUPLE OF MINUTES BEFORE THEY WILL COME AGAIN. THERE IS A RECALL ON THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS, BUT THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO VIN. WHILE DRIVING ON I-95 IN MY 1994 CHEVROLET C2500 WITH THE 6.5 L NATURALLY ASPIRATED DIESEL, MY TRUCK SUDDENLY STALLED AND I LOST ALL MY ENGINE POWERED COMPONENTS (POWER STEERING, BRAKES, ETC.) I PUSHED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL VERY HARD BUT WAS BARELY SLOWING DOWN. I FINALLY GOT THE TRUCK SLOWED DOWN ENOUGH TO GET OFF ON THE SHOULDER OF THE FREEWAY. I THEN HAD TO SIT THERE FOR 30 MINUTES TO ALLOW THE PUMP MOUNTED DRIVER TO COOL DOWN BEFORE I COULD TURN AROUND AND GARAGE MY VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THE TREAD ON THE FRONT PASSENGER AND REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRES WERE CRACKING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED. WHILE DRIVING THE TREAD PORTION OF THE GOODYEAR LOAD RANGE E TIRE SEPARATED CAUSING THE TRUCK TO PULL TO THE RIGHT, CONSUMER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE RESULTING IN ROLLOVER, ONE PERSON WAS EJECTED (NOT WEARING SEAT BELT) WHICH RESULTED IN FATALITY AND ONE PASSENGER WAS INJURED DURING ACCIDENT. FUEL SYSTEM WAS CUTTING OFF DURING DRIVE. TAKEN IN AND WORKED ON BY DEALER. REAL AXLE SEALS HAVE BEEN REPLACED 2/3 TIMES (97/99). DRIVER'S SEAT HAS SEPARATED FROM THE FRAME. BATTERY/ALTERNATOR MALFUNCTION RECENTLY. WILL BE TAKING IN VEHICLE TO DEALER ABOUT SEAT AND BATTERY/ALTERNATOR SITUATION THIS WEEK. I JUST HAVE TO GET THE BATTERIES RECHARGED ENOUGH TO GET THE TRUCK STARTED. JUST HAD ALL 8 GLOW PLUGS REPLACED END OF NOV 1999 RIGHT AFTER THE WARRANTY COMPLETED.( DOT NUMBER: AD11C98356 TIRE SIZE: LT 245/75R )
