Owner report 10007445 · 2002-10-02 (October 2, 2002)
MY AC DELCO BATTERY MALFUNCTIONED. A PLASTIC INSERT ON THE POSITIVE TERMINAL MELTED. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND HE REFUSED TO HONOR THE SIX YEAR WARRANTY ON THE BATTERY BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY DUE TO MILEAGE. I CONTACTED AN AC DELCO SERVICE CENTER AND THEY REFUSED TO HONOR THE SIX YEAR WARRANTY ON THE BASIS THAT WHEN THE WARRANTY ON THE TRUCK EXPIRED, SO DID THEIR SIX YEAR WARRANTY THAT IS NO GOOD. THAT IS NOT FAIR TO THE CONSUMER. I HOPE YOU CAN HELP AS I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH AC DELCO BATTERY. *P…

Owner report 10045063 · 2003-10-30 (October 30, 2003)
I RUN A CAR DEALERSHIP AND I WANT TO FILE A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE TWO CABLES ON CHEVROLET FULL SIZE PICKUPS THAT SECURE THE TAILGATE ON 99-02 MODELS. I HAVE SEEN HUNDREDS OF THESE TRUCKS WHERE THE CABLES HAVE FAILED AND BROKE. THERE IS NO WAY THAT THOSE CABLES ARE STRONG ENOUGH TO KEEP FROM BREAKING WITH A LITTLE ADDED WEIGHT SUCH AS A CHILD OR AN ADULT. THEY ARE AS DANGEROUS OF A DESIGN AS I HAVE EVER SEEN. PLUS, I AM TIRED OF PAYING FOR THESE CABLES ON EVERY TRUCK THAT COMES IN TO MY LOT FOR RESALE. THEY ARE WAY TO EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE. A CABLE…

Owner report 10045517 · 2003-11-05 (November 5, 2003)
I HAVE A 2001 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 AND THE TAILGATE STRAPS BROKE WHILE I WAS STANDING ON THE TAILGATE. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, IT BECAME OBVIOUS THAT BOTH CABLES HAD CORRODED TO THE POINT OF FAILURE. I PRESENTED THIS TO MY LOCAL DEALER AND THEY WERE HAPPY TO SELL MY REPLACEMENT PARTS AND WISH ME THE BEST OF LUCK. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AS THE REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE NO BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL PARTS. I AM GOING TO HAVE TO REPLACE THESE EVERY OTHER YEAR AT $100/SET.
