THE DASHBOARD CRACKED OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND OVER THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. THIS IS THE SECOND AVALANCHE THAT I HAVE OWNED THAT CRACKED IN THE SAME LOCATION; PREVIOUS YEAR WAS A 2007.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET AVALANCHE 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STABILITY TRACK WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL POSITION SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS RECALL ELATED TO THE FAILURE BUT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.

THE DASHBOARD HAS DEVELOPED TWO VERY SIGNIFICANT CRACKS ONE CONCERNS ME BECAUSE IT IS LOCATED WHERE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYS. THE CRACK HAS LEFT A VERY SHARP EDGE NEXT TO THE AIR BAG AND I AM CONCERNED IF THE BAG DEPLOYS THIS EDGE COULD CUT THE AIRBAG.
