WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TRAVELING OVER 50 MPH, AND TAKES SWEEPING TURNS / GRADUAL BENDS ON THE HIGHWAY, IT BECOMES APPARENT THAT TURNING RIGHT IS MUCH HARDER THAN TURNING LEFT. THE STEERING WHEEL IS MUCH STIFFER AND FEELS HEAVIER WHEN MAKING RIGHT TURNS AT SPEED, ALMOST LIKE IT'S PERMANENTLY STUCK IN SPORT MODE WHEN THE WHEEL IS TURNED RIGHT. IT IS CONSTANTLY FIGHTING TO GET BACK TO CENTER WHEN TAKING THOSE RIGHT TURNS AT SPEED. LEFT TURNS ARE FINE. ON TWO OCCASIONS, THE WHEEL SUDDENLY AND VIOLENTLY JERKED LEFT, TRYING TO GET BACK TO CENTER AS I WA…

PURCHASED MY 2020 CT5 IN APRIL 2020. SINCE THEN THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES FOR THE SAME SERVICE DRIVER ASSIST AND FORWARD COLLISION SYSTEM UNAVAILABLE. GM HAS DISPATCHED A SENIOR ADVISOR TO TEST THE VEHICLE AND EVEN LEFT A CODE READER IN THE VEHICLE TO TRACK ITS PERFORMANCE. MESSAGES CAME ON AGAIN. I RECORDED IT AS INSTRUCTED AND THE DEVICE WAS SENT BACK TO THE GM ENGINEERS. IT HAS BEEN OVER A MONTH TODAY 18 SEPTEMBER AND STILL NO UPDATE AS TO WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS CAR. Owner report 11439475 · 2021-11-05 (November 5, 2021)

I have had many issues with Onstar failing. I bought the 2020 Cadillac CT5 AWD 10/2020. It took Onstar over a month to connect to my car to provide AT&T internet plan (via Onstar). On 4/22/21 I was hit in my driver front & wheel, Onstar failed- never contacted us & the airbags did not deploy. I noticed my Onstar light was red. Onstar was repaired during the body shop repair. Soon after I picked up the car (approximately 1 month) the SRS light came on & Onstar turned red again on 7/31/21. Dropped off the car to be repaired 8/13/21. After repair,…

Cameras not displaying. Backup or surround. Instead, we get a blue screen with message "service camera system). This has happened every other day or so since purchased new in March 2020. In May 2021 it would continually occur (never function correctly). Dealer had it for 2 weeks replacing different components. The radio, the video processing unit, a communication harness, 2 cameras. Finally got it back to us where it would once again work 80% of the time. Then in Feb 2023 it would continually occur again (always blue screen). Dealer had it…

Owner report 11541139 · 2023-08-28 (August 28, 2023)

In reverse infotainment display instead of showing backup cameras, shows a blue screen with a camera error msg. Has occurred since vehicle was new. As it becomes more frequent, we've taken it to the dealer and they serviced it (keeping the car for 2 weeks each time). Upon return it does it occasionally again. Ongoing for 3+ years with no resolution.

Recall history

4 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

20V588000 · Service Brakes

Reported: 2020-09-24 (September 24, 2020)

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020 Chevrolet Corvette and Cadillac CT4, CT5 and XT4, 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer, and 2020-2021 Buick Encore GX vehicles. Sensor connection contamination in the electronic brake boost system may cause an interruption of communication between the sensor and the brake boost system.

Consequence: If communication with the sensor is interrupted, the electronic brake boost assist could be lost. Extra pedal force will be required to slow and stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the electronic brake boost module, free of charge. The recall began December 9, 2020. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-630-2438, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-333-4223, or Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300. GM's number for this recall is A202307260.

21V611000 · Air Bags:Side/Window:Curtain | Air Bags

Reported: 2021-08-05 (August 5, 2021)

General Motors, LLC. (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Cadillac CT4 and CT5 vehicles. The roof rail side-curtain air bags may not have been installed correctly, which could result in an improper air bag deployment during a crash.

Consequence: Air bags that do not deploy properly can increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect both left and right-side roof rail air bags and reinstall the air bags, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 30, 2021. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N212342780.

22V903000 · Exterior Lighting:Lighting Control Module:Software

Reported: 2022-12-08 (December 8, 2022)

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Cadillac CT4 and CT5; 2021-2023 Buick Envision; and 2022-2023 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. The daytime running lights (DRLs) may not deactivate when the headlights are on. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence: DRLs that do not deactivate as intended may result in a glare, reducing visibility, and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: The body control module software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 23, 2023. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N222386380. Consequence: Wheel lock-up while driving increases the risk of a crash.

Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-333-4223 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N242480630.
